I am still singing….

Yes, I am still singing “I’m in looove with a fairytale” Love the song. Brilliant number. Simple, catchy and Alexander from Norway is a sweetheart. He played his violin so beautifully.I could not get the song out of my mind. Still humming lol!!!!
Oh! I am talking about Eurovision. I normally do not watch it intensely but this time since my children are learning music, we sat and watched all of it. All the finalist songs were awesome. “Is it true?” from Iceland was so beautifully sung by Yohana, it brought tears to my eyes. “What if we” from Malta was also good. Loved the song from Estonia as well. They were all well sung. Some other number were catchy and costumes and backdrops were gorgeous. Loved it.Wish I had the CD/DVD of the Eurovision 09.
Norway won the Eurovision 09 contest extravaganza.

No scrapbooking to share today.
I am also busy getting rid of unwanted things around the house. OMG!!!, I have collected so many junk stuff. House is becoming cluttered. We are also moving into a bigger house in couple of months time. So I want to take only the essentials. I am sorting things out and getting them to Salvation Army.
Hopefully I will have time to make a layout tonight to share.
Until then

My first published layout

Yay!!!, my layout “U R Fabulous” is published in Scrapbook Creations issue 66. This is my first. Its so nice to see in print. I have not yet received my layout and my copy but I could not wait. lol!!! So I bought the mag. Here it is.

I don’t have any scrapbooking stuff to show tonight.
Been very busy and tomorrow is even worse.
Will catch you all with a card probably next time.
Bye for now.

I really feel that way today. Lost in thought, preoccupied with several things.I have been just pacing inside the house since morning. Finally I sat down and wanted to scrap just to get my mind away from everything else I have been thinking about. Then I received my prize pack from Lisa K and it motivated me to do this layout.

I made this layout for Chris W’s challenge at Debscreations
and bonus challenge for DT at Artypants.
I used the emotion I was going through ATM as inspiration for this layout. I stamped Prima dots stamp on BG two scoops paper using Stampin’ Up! quite old navy ink. The other paper is from Hambly print. Flowers from Prima, Scrapbook blossom and Green Tara.Heidi Swapp Stamp, Prima bling, BG tag, lace and blue thread given to me by ChrisW. The metal “G” and feathers from the prize pack LisaK sent, the stamped watch image from a stamp swapp and alphas from Pink Paislee.

I hope my day brightens as it progresses. Or maybe a 20 minute nap will really help!!!

Artypants Challenge 2

This week there are 2 challenges for ArtyPants DT call. One is a bonus challenge.
Here is the original challenge

Mixed Bag:

Scrap a 12×12 or 8.5×11 layout using…

– paper from 2 (or more) different manufacturers that we stock (doesn’t have to be papers we currently have in stock, just the brands)
– 2 (or more) different techniques (ie: paint, sewing, distressing etc.)
– 2 or more photos. 1 must be colour and 1 must be black & white.
– 2 or more different embellishments (buttons, bling, ribbons etc.)

And this is my take on the challenge.

I have used Basic Grey, kaiser craft and Cosmo Cricket papers. The techniques used here are, distressing using Tim Holtz’s distress ink, paper curling and distressing the edges of the paper using edge distressor, use of crackle paint on the chipboard for texture, kindly glitz for added dimension and finally the use of double sided foam for the 3D effect on the flowers.Embellishments used are Basic Grey cardstock stickers, Green Tara flower, chipboard and Kaisercraft rhinestones and pearls.

Here are some closeups

Happy Mother’s day

Morning everybody,

Wishing you all Happy Mother’s Day.
What did you all do for Mother’s day? Nothing special for me. I enjoy being a mother everyday of my life. I need not one special day for it.
But my daughter told me that she will give me her best behaviour today. Very sweet of her. She know how to charm and impress people.:)

I did a layout for my mom. My first with my mom’s photo because she does not understand my scrapbooking thingy. She says its waste of time, effort and money!!! This time she has no choice but to accept this. lol!!!! In the process of making one for my MIL. My MIL does like the artistic side of me. She appreciates all my work. So she deserves one definitely and I know she will treasure it.

I have used brown cardstock, Pink Paislee, My mind’s eye paper, Making Memories journalling pages, Fancy Pants, Kraft die cuts, Rosa Moka and Adorn it alphas.

I also made a layout for my friend who is moving to Tassie shortly. She had stroke while she was pregnant and lost her baby and her life as well. She is blind on one eye, paralyzed slightly on the right side, has slurred speech and depressed. She was a ICU nurse once. But in spite of what happened to her, her husband is so affectionate and devoted to her. Sometimes it brings tears of joy to see them. This is a photo of both of them walking at Esperance beach when we all holidayed together.

I framed it and gave it to them. Will miss them a lot.
Especially, her husband makes yummy and delicious biriyani.
Mmmmmm!!! Another friend leaving town this year. I am sad really.

Anyway, have a great day. Thanks for stopping by
