Fun with butterfly punch

Yesterday was a hot day. but today is better. So far its been nice outside. A day to go out. So I am outdoors today. Cycyling with my daughter and son. Shopping for school shoes on the agenda! And probably gardening too.
I had great fun yesterday with my butterfly punch. I made a card set and a set of 3 frames. My daughter helped me too. She wanted to “help” always but just that she cannot sit for more than 10 minutes doing some craft work. Since this was simple and butterlfy was the theme, she sat making all of them.
Here are the pictures

So cute isn’t it? I have been seeing such frames and cards on the galleries, for a while now. I really really liked them a lot. I so wanted to make them myself. I have them now. These frames are great gifts for girls as room decor.I bought the frame set from Target on sale for $5
I have some challenges to do. But I will do them only tomorrow. Today off shopping for school shoes. Oh! I also remembered I need to cover all the exercise books for both the kids. Gosh that a big job to do!
See you for now. Have a great weekend!

Note cards

Morning everybody,
Today I wanted to share some note cards I made last night. I also made coordinating envelope and a bag to put them in. I am not happy with colors I have used to make the bag. I think I will have to make another bag later. But here are the pictures

I have used a combination of PTI, Stampin’ Up! and Basic Grey products to make this set. Very easy and quick to make. There are plenty of templates available online to make a box for a 3 x 3 note cards and similarly the envelope too. Just Google! What will we do without Google! lol!
And there are also many templates available on Splitcoast stampers. My envelopes are from Melstampz.blogspot.com and box is from the splitcoast stampers. Thanks to Mel and the person who gave the box template. You are both very sweet.

The sale-a-bration at Stampin’ Up! starts on 25th January. I am sorry I gave you wrong information in my previous post. The inventory sale is still on. So if you like to get some good deals on the Stampin’ Up! stamp set then email me.

See you soon.

2010 calendar

G’day everybody,

I am going to do a quick post today. I made another CD calendar for 2010. This is a different design. I have used PTI Fancy Flourish stamps, Kaisercraft rhinestones and Stampin’ Up! inks and Whisper White paper.
Here are the pictures

here are some closeups

I realised  after putting all the rhinestones, they do not fit into the CD box. So if you are making one, please do not use ribbons, brads, rhinestones. Just do a single layer stamping or coloring.

From tomorrow onwards till 31st March, there is sale-a-bration at Stampin’ Up!. So if you spend 100$ on Stampin’ Up! products, you get to choose a stamp set from sale-a-bration catalogue free. More details will be up on my blog tomorrow. So be sure to check in.

Have a great day

A great getaway

Hello everybody,
I had a great getaway last weekend. Well, it was a business trip to Perth but I also combined a lot of things because we were in Perth. I am a Indian Australian, so I buy a lot of Indian groceries. In the town I live in I do not get any. So a trip to Perth means load my card lol! car with groceries, which we did of course! But the most favourate thing we did was to watch the movie Avatar on 3D. Wow! I loooooove the movie. What great graphics. Loved the depth and sharpness of the picture. I could see the body hair of the Na’vi tribe. I also liked the connection between the Na’vi hair and the dragons.Very cute! I really wish there was such planet which is so pure, fresh and untouched. And keep it that way! This is my favourate movie. Anybodyelse liked the movie?  Some of my IT friends are not so impressed with the movie. Mmm!!! I also heard that many liked the movie so much that they wanted to live in Pandora and were depressed with the current reality they live in! Mmmm!!! cannot differentiate between reality and graphics. Thats scary! Anyway, I looved the movie berry much.
I have some cards to show you. I made these for Elite monthly challenges. You can see the challenges here
Scroll down and you can see this month’s sketch, color and stampset challenges.
This card I made for the sketch challenge
I like Upsy Daisy stamp set from SU berry much. With dazzling diamonds they look very pretty. Don’t you think so? And this one for the color challenge
I saw a card made by Dawn Mcvey on her blog and really liked the sketch of card. This card is inspired by her card. You can find her card here Its the blue one.  Love her cards.
I have used Great friend, En francis and I (heart) hearts stamp set on this card.
For more inspirations see Elite Challenge blog.
I still have a stampset challenge to do. So I sign off now and hope you all have a great day

Still on purple valentine

Hello everybody,
How are you all doing? I am fine still baking though! 43 degree celcius today and to continue until Sunday. Thanks to the person who invented Air Con. Without which it will be difficult for us to live at the moment. The reason, I could not do another post yesterday was I was exhausted because of the heat. This post is going to be a short one because my laptop is heating up real quick due to the weather. Don’t want my laptop to break down.So here is the coordinating bag of chocolates for the purple valentine card.
I am basically recycling the bag. I don’t remember what was inside the bag! But I knew I should keep it. I have a collection of these awesome packaging bags and boxes which could be recycled.
There are some Cadbury Rose chocolates inside the bag.Yummy!
I have used both SU and PTI products to make these.

Pencil case

Morning everybody,

I so want to go to the northern hemisphere at the moment. I want to go to a cooler place. My town is baking at 39 degree today. Its going to be worse in the coming days.A short holiday to a cooler place will be nice. There is a bush fire raging neaar Perth. Hope people are evacuvated soon. I feel for those people who have to leave their home all of a sudden and live without knowing whether they will go back to their home or not.I cannot imagine what it will be like to loose my house in the bushfire and start all over again! I pray nobody looses their house and are safe.

Now, I wanted to get some shorts and sleeveless tees and guess what, all the new arrivals in the shop at least in Kalgoorlie is Autumn clothes. Why do they bring autumn clothes in the middle of summer? The summer has just began and it will go on till April. I think the clothing stores will have to extend another round of summer clothes. Because of the sale all the remaining shorts and skirts have all gone. I will have to do with what I have I think. Or have a look when I go to Perth.

Yesterday, I made a pencil holder. I got the measurements from this blog.

I have used Perfect Plum and So Banana cardstocks for it.
Stamp set used: Seeing Spots
Accessories: Scalloped border punch, scalloped circle punch, circle punch and rhinestone brad.

A cute and functional gift for children. Holds about 4 to 5 pencils.
Thanks for the tutorial Lauraly.

Have a great day today everbody.

Campin at lake Ballard- Lots of pictures

Hi everybody,
I had been to a salt lake near my town called Lake Ballard. Its a huge salt lake and this is the first time in 3 years of my living in this town, I went to see this lake. Western Australian outback is very rugged and huge. We also wanted to camping that evening as it was a full moon day. My first time camping but I was ok with it. Why? because it was an overnight camping. I packed food, took some extra clothing, some toilet papers and hand showel etc, apart from tents and sleeping bags 9that was my husband’sresponsibility lol!). We had a friend come along too as he had the 4 wheel drive. The road for 51kms is a dirt road. We did not want to drive with our Toyota Corolla and end up with flat tyres! There is no phone coverage too!
Anyway, All set ready and off we went.
Here are some pictures
There are some iron sculptures around the lake. Here in the above picture, Aditi is comparing her hand with that of the sculpture! Which one of them has the skinnest hands? lol!
3 skinny sculptures!
This is the night shot of the full moon. It was awesome to see the full moon rise. I haven’t see such big orange moon in my life. Also it was also very romantic to sit with my husband in a serene environment under the full moon (kids sleeping inside the tent). Wow!
The moon in the morning at 5.00am. I loved camping until it started to become windy by midnight and the sound of the wind was scary!.I just could not sleep. I was scared that the tent is going to collaspe. I kept waking my husband and wanting to move into the car.lol! It did not happen!
We came back after sunrise, very exhausted. I slept for 3 hours later at home in my comfy bed. Kids loved camping. They slept peacefully too. So did my husband and the friend. They seemed to have enjoyed it. Apparently they did not hear the wind at all! Whatever, it maybe, camping is not for me. I need my comfy bed, no scary winds and toilet.I told them they can go by themselves next time or pitch a tent in out backyard and sleep there.
Thanks for reading my rambling. See you soon
Have a great weekend

First share for this year.

Morning everybody,
Its first day of January 2010. Cannot believe its 2010!!!  10 years passed so quickly since 2000. Gosh! thats was very quick. I still remember all that mayhem about the YK2 affecting the computers at the millenium.  And some rumours about how world will come to an end with the start of the new millenium Blah Blah!Nothing happened ! lol!  I am for some reason so looking forward to this year. Honestly I don’t know why? But its just that feeling. I think it will be a good year for me.I know it will be. I should put it that way.
For the first share this year, I have a pocket card. I saw this at Splitcoast Stampers sometime last year! lol! Last year!, thats sometime last week. Hehehe!
I made it for Valentine’s day. Here are the pictures.
I have used:
CS: Chocolate Chip and Whisper White from Stampin’ Up!
DSP: Parsian Breeze and Sweet Slumber from Stampin’ Up!
Stamp set: I (Heart) Hearts and Dream de jour from Stampin’ Up!
Accessories: Fillgree brads, tag punch, rhinestone brads from Stampin’ Up! and nestabilities scalloped circle die.
I like pockets especially on my clothes. They are so handy to put keys and some cash without having to carry a huge handbag. So when I saw how to make a pocket card on Splitcoast stampers, I wanted to make it. Isn’t it cute? They can also be used to put some love notes and slip it into my husband’s pocket. It will be a lovely surprise. Or put in a reminder note and slip it into my children’s pocket. Haha!
I am also stuck with the idea of  using this pocket card for putting all the points card which I have collected from various stores. I am talking about Flybuys, Katies card,Priceline card, Myer One card and others. Then I can make a storage bag or box for all of the pocket cards and keep it in the car.At the moment my purse is overflowing with these cards and gift coupons. It will lighten my purse as well. Hmmmm think think!!!! Will work on it and see.
OK, I need to keep my New Year resolution. I have promised to reduce the time I spend on surfing the internet on my laptop. So I better keep it. I also need to prepare to go for camping. I am going camping for the first time in my life. I don’t like camping but this one is just overnight. I will tell you all about it tomorrow.
Have a great day and have fun on the first day of 2010.
