CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop week #2

Hey, Hello and Hi dear friends,

Welcome to the second week of CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop.

Last week was so much fun with plenty of past designers and muses participating. I am sure you have enjoyed hopping and got inspired. Did you play along too? This week is no different. We have a big lineup of designers participating in the blog hop. I am one of the lucky one on the list. Yay!

Now, you should have come from the gorgeous and talented Maureen Merritt‘s blog. If not, I have a list of designers participatig later on in the post.

My CASE muse today is Laura Bassen. I LOVE her style of clean and simple card with vibrant colours which make big impact. I am a huge fan of her. Her videos are so much fun not just to watch how she does her cards but to listen to her chat. I enjoy all her videos. There is this card of Laura’s below which she recently made for Simon Says Stamp using the new SSS stencil.  I am CASEing this card today. Here is Laura Bassen’s card here on her blog.

I cannot take my eyes off the beautiful colourful background. What an impact it makes on the card?  Then the simple combination of die cut and stamped sentiment completes it all. Brilliant. Inspired by that, I made mine.
Thanks card
I have created the similar vibrant colourful background using Funky Floral stencil from MFT and distress inks. I trimmed the card panel about 1/8″ smaller than the card front. I had this white frame on my desk. This is the negative after die cutting the centre rectangle using PPP die. I mounted this on the stenciled panel using foam adhesives. I die cut few of the big Thanks, a die from Simon Says Stamp using black cardstock and one from black glitter paper. I stacked and glued them for some dimension. I then adhered it across the frame. Finally, I have a few 6mm and 4mm Onyx sequins scattered and glued. Here is a closeup.
Thanks card closeup!
Hope I have inspired you to try some vibrant colourful background using stencils. Your next stop is to the queen of CAS style cards Donna Mikasa‘s blog. And here is the list of designers participating in the blog hop.
Why I am giving you the list of designers is because I want you to leave comments on all of them. Why again? There are a few fantastic sponsors giving away prizes. And you will be eligible for the draw to win only if you have commented on all the blog. So make sure you leave your comments on all the blogs. Comments open until midnight following Tuesday.
Here is the list of sponsors:

 Poppy Stamps

Pretty Pink Posh
The Twinery

You can also play along with us. CASE Study Blog has a linky. So if you are inspired by any of the designer’s cards and want to CASE them, please do and link your project. If you have a muse/inspiration of your own, CASE and enter your project. We love to see what you have done.
Happy Hopping and have fun!

  1. Hi Gayatri sweetie. It has been so long since I have been here that I hang my head in shame. Lol. No really it has been a long time. I use to visit more often when I was more active in our Hero Arts group but my creative mojo is on vacation somewhere along with visiting blogs. But I have noticed that you are working very hard and doing some outstanding work. I am honored to say that I know that lady when I see your work in published magazines. And today's card really provides reasons as to why your a big hit in the card making world. Love this card today. So bold, bright and crisp. So happy that I dropped by and congrats again on all that your doing to make the paper crafting world a brighter place. Hugs.
