Altenew, Video

Hello! An Altenew card and a video!

Hello everyone!
It is new year eve right now for me! Getting ready for an Italian dinner and fireworks. Before that, I wanted to share my new card using Altenew Stamp Set and dies. I also made a video of the card. But first here is the card.
Hello card #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I stamped Altenew’s Halftone Hello in black, then masked the stamped sentiment using the mask di cut using coordinating die. Then I stamped the cluster of flowers and leaves from Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set. I then removed the mask to reveal the stamped sentiment. Love how the sentiment pops right out of the flower and leaves cluster. I then trimmed the panel, adhered foam behind the panel. On the card base, I adhered the woodgrain pattern paper from My Mind’s Eye, then the stamped panel. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Metallic Gold 6mm and 4mm sequins. I love to add some gold on my cards 🙂

And here is the video of how I made the card. You can also watch my video on my You Tube Channel in HD.
Hope you like my video. I also made two more similar cards. So now I have a set of three cards to pack and gift a special person.

And here are all the three cards together.

LOVE the colours against the white background with woodgrain pattern paper and gold sequins as accents. Hope you like them too. I am entering this video for Altenew’s Video Challenge #3!

Here is my party card.

Party Time #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I used Winnie & Walter’s The Party stamp set to make my card. I stamped the background of my card with the images from the stamp set in a mixture of colours. I just wanted the burst of colours. I have used pigment inks from Mama Elephant and Avery Elle and Memento Luxe inks. Pigment inks remain bright as they sit on top of the cardstock.  For the focal sentiment. I die cut a vellum panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set. This die set is my all time favourite. I use it all the time and most of my cards have the stitched rectangle panel in them 🙂 For this card, I used the third largest die from the set. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Party Stamp set which I heat embossed on the vellum panel. I added Multi Matt Medium to the back of the heat embossed sentiment to adhere the vellum on the card front.  Then embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s iridescent sequins. Here is a closeup of the card.

While I had the stamp set on my table I made another card.

Hooray its your day #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I decided to try no line copic colouring  using masking technique to stamp a cluster of images on this card. Just to push myself to do something new, different and outside my comfort zone. I love how it turned out. One thing I will do different is to stamp the image with fourth generation stamping with Memento ink instead of third generation. I can still see the outline in certain places. Otherwise all is good. Now no line copic colouring is within my comfort zone. Yay!

Hooray its your day closeup #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Sentiment is also from the same stamp set which I stamped using black ink right below the coloured images.
I then die cut the coloured panel using the smaller scallop panel from Essentials: Audrey’s Cutaway. I layered this panel on a white card front. Then I embellished the card with Clear Droplet from Pretty Pink Posh.
So now it’s YOUR turn, Happy Crafting

Wishing You Brighter Days!

Good morning and hello everyone!

Just one more day before the new year. This year went by so quickly for me. Unbelievable! It has been busy year and a roll-coaster of a year. I wish next year would be a bit slower and enjoyable. I can only wish as nobody knows whats in store in future.

I have a rainbow card to share with you today. This is a Pretty Pink Posh card.

Wishing you Brighter Days card
My favourite set from the Pretty Pink Posh release is the Rainy Days stamp set. I LOVE the umbrellas and the sentiments on this set. There is also lots of smilie faces and rain drops in the set as well. Awesome set. On my card, I stamped the outline of the umbrella randomly on a card panel and coloured them with copic markers. I used rainbow colours and added some shading on the umbrellas.

Then I added the large gold glitter scalloped border using Scallop Frame Die set. This is my favourite die set from Pretty Pink Posh too. Love the scallops inside of the frame. Unique because all the scalloped frames in the market has the scallops on the outside of the frame. And this also has the stitched details on it. Great die to frame a background like I did or a focal point or sentiment. LOVE it. 🙂

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set which I white heat embossed on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered with some bunched up thread. I then embellished with gold metallic sequins also from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a closeup.

This is a great card to send somebody who is feeling a bit down or under the weather. Or even as a nice gesture to any friend. Hope you like it.

This is my take on the Make it Sparkle challenge.

My Friend card#1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
I have used Technique Tuesday Cath Edvalson’s Garden Flowers die set on my card. I decided to make a sparkly shaker card with the Garden Flowers die as the focal point. I die cut the outline of the flower using black glitter cardstock and the solid piece in watercolour paper. I watercoloured the solid die cut using orange and pink Zig Clean Colour brush pens. I layered the outline flower over the  solid flower. I also die cut  the sentiment from the Garden Flowers die set using watercolour paper and watercoloured using pink and orange Zig pens.

Then I made a shaker box using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set as the box frame. I adhered the acetate sheet on the inside of the frame. I stuck the flower die on the centre of the card front. Then added pink and white iridescent hearts from Martha Stewart around the flowers before adhering the  shaker box frame on the card front. I then adhered the sentiment die cut on the acetate sheet on the frame.

Simon Says Stamp DieCember Card #2

Hi, Hello and Hiya everybody,
I am sharing a birthday card today with you using the new dies from Simon Says Stamp DieCember release.
I love the Single Roses die. Just very beautiful. I paired this die with Happy Birthday die to make my card. I have used sponging and watercolour techniques on my card.
I die cut the Single Roses die using watercolour paper and watercoloured the roses and leaves using Zig watercolour pens. Then I sponged Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar on the card base on the top left corner. I adhered the roses and leaves using liquid glue to the middle of the roses and stalk end of the leaves. I love how the edges of the roses and ends of the leaves are raised on the card.

Happy Birthday closeup#1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Happy Birthday closeup #2//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I die cut the Happy Birthday die using black cardstock three times, then stacked and glued them. I adhered the sentiment vertically on the right side of the card. I wanted the bold contrasting sentiment to be different than facing straight at you. Something out of the box. I love how it turned out. I then embellished my card with Clear Droplets, Ballerina Pink and Strawberry Burst Iridescent sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Finally rounded the top left corner of the card.

All the new DieCember goodies are available for purchase at Simon Says Stamp Store. You also get a free wafer thin die free with purchase this month. Check out the code below.

Embellished with the pretty Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Simon Says Stamp DieCember card – Hello!

Hello everyone,
Happy Sunday! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I am sharing a card using Simon Says Stamp DieCember release die called Stitched Whirl. This die has beautiful stitched swirls which gives the background subtle details. Love it.
Hello card #2
I wanted to add more to just die cutting using the Stitched Whirl die. I wanted those swirls to be highlighted. So I die cut using watercolour paper and then did a rainbow colour on the die cut. Once dry, I die cut using the largest Stitched Rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp. Love the stitched details on the panel and the bright rainbow colours. To keep the background panel to be highlight of the card, I kept the sentiment simple by die cutting Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello in gold glitter cardstock. But the sentiment die cut was a tad small for the rainbow panel. So I decided to frame the sentiment by die cutting a white stitched frame using two Stitched Rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set. All the layers are adhered over a Fog card base using foam adhesives for dimension. Finally brought the card together with Pretty Pink Posh’s 10mm and 4mm Sparkly Clear and 6mm and 4mm Gold sequins. Here are some side shots of the card which shows the stitched swirls on the rainbow panel.

Special Friends!

Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a non Christmas card which I enjoyed making. To be honest with you, I am now over making Christmas cards. I have posted all the cards I made and now done with them this year. Yay! So when I went into my craft room this morning, I wanted to enjoy the process of making something different. Not that I did not enjoy creating any of my cards, It is the feeling doing something different to what I have been making for past couple of months. Hope you know what I mean! :0

So this is my card I am sharing with you today.

I wanted to do a lot of sponging inks. I love the effect of sponging and blending colours. On this panel, I blended Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Crushed Olive, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Faded Jeans. I went back and forth a few times to get even blending. I then spattered clear water on the panel and mopped them off with a clean towel. One the left side of the panel, I stamped the Gentle Breeze stamp from Penny Black using Soft Olive, Cup o Joe and Forever New Hero Arts inks. This three layered stamping gives depth to the whole scene on the panel.
Special friends closeup#1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have been hoarding this On Safari die set from Penny Black for a long time. I love them and have been thinking long and hard how to use them creatively. Although I have a few ideas in my mind, I thought the giraffe and elephant on this background would be perfect. So I die cut them out and sponged them with Ripe Persimmon distress ink. I adhered them on to the background panel next to each other like special friends. Thus the sentiment on the card from Mimi’s Love stamp set also from Penny Black. I added jute twine with a bow to bring in some texture to the card and also tie in with the kraft card base.

I love the inking of the background scene and how everything came together. I enjoyed making this card. Hope you like it. Here are all the three Penny Black products, I used to make my card. They are all available at Penny Black store.

Taylored Expressions

Taylored Expressions Thank You card!

Summer holidays have officially started. Yay! So happy to have the children at home 🙂 Slept in this morning and generally the pace has slowed down. A gorgeous sunny 25 degree C day. Great start.
I have a thank you card to share with you today.
On this card, I have used one of the printed doodled panel from Taylored Expressions called Keep in Touch I watercoloured the panel using Zig watercolour pen. I also used Sakura glitter pen to add glitter to the sentiment and all the dots. Then I added glossy accent over the dots for added dimension.
I adhered the panel on the pattern paper from Hello Happiness paper pack. To add interest to the pattern paper layer, I used the largest stitched rectangle die from Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and embossed on the pattern paper. This gives a solid and a stitched detailed frame around the pattern paper and frames the watercolour panel. I love this embossing using the die. So when I adhered the pattern paper on the white card base, I added the adhesive inside of the embossed details on the back side of the pattern paper. I did this so I can curl the ends of the pattern paper which adds subtle dimension to the card.

I love the simplicity of the card on the whole yet having so many details. Hope you like it too.

Happy Holidays!

Good morning! I am so thrilled that today is the last day of the school year. My son will be finish year 10 and daughter year 8. We will start summer holidays from this evening for one and half months. At the same time, I am dreading having to deal with couple of teenagers for that many days. Since we are not going anywhere overseas I have figure our what to do!!!  My boy is starting his driving lessons, doing community services and continue his guitar. But Aditi does not have much to do other than do community services and practice piano. I think they need some fun stuff to do. I don’t want them to hang around with friends all the day long. That is not fun. A huge challenge for me. Any ideas what you guys do with your teenagers especially your girls?
Today I have a holiday card share using Pretty Pink Posh’s new stamp set and dies.
I have used masking technique and sponging inks to create my background. I die cut the images from Holiday Pals coordinating dies using masking paper. I adhered them randomly on the card front. Then sponged Ice Spruce and Evergreen Bough distress ink all over the card front. Then I removed the masks and stamped the corresponding images from Holiday pals stamp set in black ink. I already love the contrast of colours on the card front. I did not colour the images because I like them as it is. You can colour them if you like. To frame the focal point, I die cut the smaller scallop rectangle stitched die from Scallop Frames dies in coral glitter paper. This is from American Crafts. I adhered this to the cenre of the card front using foam adhesives. I stamped the sentiment from Holiday Pals stamp set in black on a strip of white cardstock, adhered this on a piece of vellum using foam adhesives and the vellum on the centre of the scallop frame using foam adhesive as well. Finally embellished with gold 6mm and 4mm sequins.

Happy Holidays closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Hope you like it. I love that the card is different in colour combination which I think makes it unique.

All the products I have used on my blog is available at Pretty Pink Posh store.
