Here is my  take on the challenge.

My friend!//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used Technique Tuesday Garden Flowers die on my card. I used Dylusions spray on white cardstock and saturated it. Then die cut the outline and the solid flowers using the die. I layered glued them. I did this with six different colours of Dylusions. I made three layered flowers. Just swapped the centres of the flowers to different colours. The leaves are from Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves dies cut using vellum cardstock.  The sentiment is part of the Technique Tuesday Garden Flowers die set. I simply die cut them using black cardstock.  The kraft layer is die cut using Simon Says Stamp largest stitched rectangle die. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins.

You are so Special!

Hello everyone, I have a special and cute card to share with you today. This card is made using Penny Black stamp sets. And I have watercoloured embossed images on this card. This is one technique I enjoy a lot. Makes me calm and relaxed watercolouring. Anyway, here is my card.
You are so special flat #2
I have used three stamp sets from Penny Black to make this card. The girl image is called XOXO. Love this little girls image. Adorable. I combined this set with Penny Black All Bloom stamp set for the greenery around the girl. Finally the sentiment is from Special Thoughts stamp set.
xoxo picture special thoughts picture all abloom picture
Yo make this card, I black heat embossed the images on to watercolour paper. Then I coloured the images with Zig Clean Brush markers. These pens are my favourite to watercolour as I feel I have better control colouring with these pens. I also use an aqua brush to get waterdown and add shading to the colouring.. I grounded the images by added land to the bottom of the images and watercoloured the background with blue colour. To make the images pop, I added some grey shading to them.

You are so special closeup #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Finally, I added shimmer to the girl’s skirt, butterflies, flowers and leaves using Wink of Stella clear shimmer pens. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered using foam adhesive. The watercoloured panel is trimmed to about one third of an inch smaller to the size of the card front and adhered to the kraft base using foam adhesives. I embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins and twine bow on the top.

Hope you like my watercoloured special card as much as I do. All the products are available to purchase from Penny Black Store.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a lovely Monday!

Simon Says Stamp May Card kit Card #2

Hiya everyone, Welcome back to my blog! I am sharing my second card using Simon Says stamp May card kit.
May 2016 Card Kit 600
This is a very bright, bold and colourful card kit. I love the colours and the outline stamps on the kit. So I decided to use the pattern papers and cardstocks to paper piece the umbrella image from the stamp set. Here is my card #2
I started with stamping the umbrellas randomly on the card front using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I then stamped the umbrella on one of the pattern paper from the kit and also on the Sunshine and Doll Pink cardstock. I had cut them out with scissors. Then adhered on the stamped umbrella image on the card front. I coloured the handles with copic cool grey markers. This made a colourful background. Love it.

You're one of a kind//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the focal point, I die cut a vellum cardtock using one of stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Stitched rectangle die set. I black heat embossed the umbrella on the vellum panel. Coloured the umbrella green using Zig clean brush pen. I then stamped the speech bubble from the stamp set on Doll Pink cardstock with the sentiment inside. Hand cut out and added to the focal panel. The secondary sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio stickers also from the card kit. Finally embellished with sequins from the card kit. I adhered this panel to the card front using foam hidden behind the sticked and speech bubble. I brushed the speech bubble with clear shimmer using Wink of Stella.

Hope you like my card. You can find more inspirations using the card kit in the gallery here!

Here is my take on the felt challenge.

I have used Springtime Chicken dies from Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush release to make my card. I die cut the card front, the card back, then another card front using pattern paper. I then used pink and burgundy felt from Lipstick Party felt set to die cut the top part of the chicken and the wings. Then the button flowers and crest using the yellow felt from Caribbean Spices felt set . The leaves are die cut using pattern paper.

Colourful felt chick closeup #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I then assembled the pieces to make a cute chicken card. I added some sequins from Simon Says Stamp May card kit.

I loved it so much that I made another one.

Black and Orange chick #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I changed the pattern paper, colour of felt and just one flower . I love the use of googly eyes on the chickens. Both together makes a cute set.

Specila friends card #2 closeup

I have coloured both the images using Zig Clean Brush pens. I use these pens to colour intricate and detailed images. I feel I have better control with these pens. I add a bit of colour on the shading areas and then use aqua pens to pull the colour and fade out. I also added glossy accents on the ears, tails, hearts and flowers for extra dimension. Then I also added some shimmer using Wink of Stella.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Hello card//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used  Helena Royal Menagerie Prima Flowers. I love the different pink hues on the flowers and the complementary green coloured leaves. I totally wanted to make a shabby chic layered card. So I rummaged through my pattern paper stash and picked few pattern papers to go with the flowers. I honestly don’t know the brand of the pattern papers. I trimmed one pattern paper to the size of the card front, roughed the edges with the scissors, another pattern paper die cut using MFT’s Wonky Stitched rectangle die, again roughed the edges. I layered glued them. The frame is from Simon Says Stamp called Woodland Rectangular frame die cut using pattern paper. I then added leaves die cuts from green cardstock and Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die. Then clustered and glued the Prima flowers and leaves.

To add more texture and interest, I added pink glitter on the flowers and Woodland Seed Beed from Pretty Pink Posh. I also added liquid pearls and twine bow. The sentiment is Painted Hello from Simon Says Stamp die cut a few in black cardstock. They are stacked and glued before I adhered them on the card. I then glued the finished panel on Simon Says Stamp white card base. Here are some closeups of the card.

Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit – Card #1

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I have a card to share using Simon Says Stamp May card Kit called Showered with Love. This is a very bright and colourful kit especially the pattern papers. Love the plaid papers from Lawn Fawn and the sequins in the kit. The stamp set is always gorgeous. Love the outline images which can be coloured, watercoloured or paper pieced.
May 2016 Card Kit 600
On my card I have masked and stamped the sun and clouds images from the stamp set on the main panel and copic coloured them. For the clouds I just shaded them with C0 copic marker. Then I masked them all and sponged Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass distress inks. I embellished with the sequins from the kit. On the card base, I adhered one of the plaid pattern paper from the kit. This paper coordinates with the coloured on the main panel. I adhered the main panel on the card front using foam adhesive for extra dimension.
You are my sunshine
For the sentiment, I used the speech bubble form the stamp set with the sentiment stamped in the middle. I hadn cut the speech bubble out and adhered using foam adhesive. The secondary sentiment is from the Pinkfresh Studio sentiment sticker panel also from the kit.

More new projects from Taylored Expressions!

Hey everyone,
I have more Taylored Expressions projects to share today. Here is card #1
Taylored Expressions has released a new die set for Happy Trails stamp set called Happy Trails Accessories. There is already dies for the trailers called Happy Trails – Trailer dies. Together with the dies, Happy Trails stamp set is a must have camping set. I had great fun heat embossing the images and watercolouring them. Then I die cut them using the coordinating dies. Using Build a Scene Rolling Hills dies from Taylored Expressions, I created a camping scene on my card. The sky is created using watercolour and the mountains from Happy Trails Stamp set.

And my second card keeping with the camping theme.

Life is Better by Gayatri Muralihttps://embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For this card, I have used Build a Scene: Lakeside die set, Lakeside Border and  Paddle Out stamp set. The Build A Scene: Lakeside die set has everything to create a lakeside camp site. All I have done is to die cut using Taylored Expressions Premium cardstocks, sponged distress inks to give depth to the die cuts and adhered on the largest circle die cut from Stitched Circle Stacklets. Trimmed the excess of the circle. I adhered this on the stitched rectangle panel die cut using the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment below the circle.  Love creating scenes. They make a big impact on the card. Hope you like my projects today.

Sending Hugs & Kisses! A Penny Black card!

Hello everyone,
I am so thrilled to find time to craft today. This precious craft time was so hard to get for past month and a half. Life threw a curve ball at me. So many unexpected things piled up and sorting them out took all the time. No time or energy to craft. Now most of stuff is sorted and settled. There is a routine to the madness now. So relieved Yay!
I am sharing a card today with you which is totally out of my comfort zone. This style is not my style, however this was my style when I did scrapbooking layouts. Although I was nerves doing this card, it was not hard once I got started. Here is the card for you.
There are a lot of dies from Penny Black using on this card. The background is also created using Penny Black cling stamp set called Brick Wall. I white heat embossed the stamp set and watercoloured with brown watercolours. Over this background, I layered with a black Half Circle die cut also from Penny Black. I adhered this die cut at an angle for added interest. Then I layered with lots of leaves die cut using Penny Black Leaves dies. On top of these leaves, I layered three flowers and leaves die cut using Penny Black Layered Flowers. At this stage, I added purple and green glitter using Multi Medium Matt. Finally, I added some flowers from Prima Marketing, a twine bow and lots and lots of Silver Shimmer Seed Beads from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Penny Black Special Thoughts stamp set.

Sending Hugs and Kisses//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

There is a lot of layering on this card. I love how it turned out. So pretty. I still want to learn how to work the randomness of the glitter or microbeads. Normally it is microbeads that are used to add texture to the flowers. I don’t have any and hence my alternative was Seed Beads. It worked too. Here is a closeup of the card.

Hope you like my card. All the Penny Black products and new releases are now available for purchase from the Penny Black Store.

You are totally awesome! Taylored Expressions Release day!

It is release day at Taylored Expressions! All new products that were sneak peeked for past three days are now available for purchase at the Taylored Expressions store.

Today I am sharing couple of cards I made using a new stamp set called  Bold Brush Strokes!

Bold Brushstrokes
I LOVE the brush fonts on this stamp set and the size of the font is nice and big. Perfect to use as a focal point. And the sentiments are awesome too. I have combined this set with Stroke of Genius 2 Stamp Set to make my cards.
Stroke of Genius 2
Here is my first card. This is a girlie birthday card using three different shades of pink.
I have used the images from Stroke of Genius 2 stamp set and stamped in three different shades of pink. The ink I have used are from Altenew. Then I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Bold Brushstrokes stamp set as well as three spatter images from Strokes of Genius 2. Love the touch of gold. Then I die cut the panel using the largest of the stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and mounted the panel on kraft card base. Finally embellished with sequins from various Taylored Expressions collections.

Happy Birthday closeup by Gayatri Murali//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

My second card is masculine. My son always wanted me to make masculine teen cards to give his friends. This one is for him.

You are Totally Awesome by Gayatri Murali//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

On this card, I have layered the images from Stroke of Genius 2 stamp set. I love these images. They are truly a stroke of genius 😉  Using blues and yellow this card becomes masculine. I don’t believe in muted masculine card. I like them bright. Hence I have used bright blue and yellow along with navy. Then I black heat embossed the sentiment from Bold Brushstrokes stamp set.  Looks totally cool! To bring in more black colour to tie in with the black sentiment, I added a strip of black cardstock and embellished with Doodlebug Beetle Sprinkles enamel dots.

Hope you like my cards using the new stamp sets. All the new release stamp set, dies and embossing folders are available for purchase from Taylored Expressions Store. Head over to Taylored Expressions Blog for more inspirations from Taylor and the talented designers.

Happy Shopping!
