Watercoloured Florals!

Oh Hello everyone, I have a floral card to share with your today. My Sunday is cold, windy with hailstorms. The best thing to do was to watercolour a beautiful image. I love another of the new cling background stamp called Sweet Perfume. It is a beautiful cluster of flowers and leaves. Perfect image to watercolour. Here is the background cling stamp called Sweet Perfume from Penny Black.
I white heat embossed this image on watercoloured paper and coloured the image with Zig clean Brush watercolour pens.
At first, I laid a very light colour wash on the all of the images. While the paper is damp, I added shading with the darker shades of colour and blended the colour using aqua brush. It took me about an hour and half to finish watercolour with breaks in between. I then coloured the background with blue. Here are some closeups.

I then trimmed the panel to 4″x5″. I added the black and white stripped pattern paper from Beau Jardins paper pack also from Penny Black on the bottom of the card base. I then added a strip of black cardstock on the bottom of the floral panel and adhered the panel on the card front using foam adhesive. The sentiment from Happy Notes stamp set is white heat embossed on black cardstock and adhered on the card front. Embellished with rose gold sequins.

A Birthday Card!

Hello everyone,
Surprise! I am posting more than one post per week! I know I have been busy and not been able to post more than one post on my blog. Life has slowed down a bit this week and so I thought I will make a post today. But next week I have more to share.
I have a card using new release stamp set from Penny Black to share with you today.
Birthday card #1
I love this new cling stamp set called Flower Cascade. So pretty and I straight away wanted to colour the image. So I stamped on white card panel and coloured the image with copic markers. This is my new favourite colour combination. Ink Blue, light green and yellow with neutral. I also brushed sparkle on the flowers.

Birthday card closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I stamped the sentiment from Special Thoughts stamp set. Then trimmed the panel to 4″x 5.50″ and adhered on an ink blue card base. I finished the card with clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is what happened. The clear droplet did not dry and it moved when I took the photo. I didn’t realise until I was blogging. So I will leave it as it. Things like this happens especially when one is in hurry!

Hope you like my card. All the new release from Penny Black are available for purchase from Penny Black Store.

I LOVE Lawn Fawn stamp sets and particularly this set called Loads of Fun. I adore the washing machine image and the accessories, let alone the sentiments. I was waiting to get my hands on it and make a shaker card.

So I started with stamping all the images from the stamp set and coloured them using copic markers. Then I fuzzy cut them out with scissors. The images are basic in shape and so easy to cut them out. I think dies are available is you are someone who love to have matching dies for stamp sets. I then used a circle die and cut the centre of the washing machine to make a shaker card. I filled the shaker with the copic coloured clothing images I fuzzy cut. I LOVE the washing machine now ūüôā So adorable don’t you think?

Loads of fun closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the background, I masked the bottom of the card front using masking tape, then sponged Spun Sugar and Adandoned Coral distress ink on top of Simon Says Stamp Trellis Grate stencil. Then I removed the mask and masked the stenciled area to sponged Gathered Twigs distress ink. I wanted wallpaper and floor background. I pretty much achieved it I think!
I adhered the washing machine, basket and other elements using foam adhesives for dimension. I stamped one half of the sentiment directly on the bottom of the card and the other on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed and adhered. Finally embellished with Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Happy Birthday Pop Up Card!

Hey crafty friends,

Sharing an pop up card using the some new My Favorite Things products

Happy Birthday to you#1
For the card front, I have used a pattern paper from Watercolor Wash Brights paper pad. The panel is die cut using the stitched rectangle die from Blueprint Sketch 29, sponged with Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress ink and die cut using die namics Happy Birthday to You. This panel is adhered using foam adhesives and embellished with Rose Gold sequins.

On the inside, I trimmed a card stock about half an inch smaller than the card front and scored in the middle. I sponged Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress inks. Spattered with clean water and dabbed them to get some texture. Then I used the die namics Pop Up Elements Narrow to die cut three pop up elements.

The images on the pop up elements are from Beary Special Birthday stamp set. I have coloured them with copic markers and die cut using the coordinating die namics.  The sentiments are also from the same stamp set which I have stamped on white card strip and adhered using foam adhesives.  Finally embellished with Rose Gold Sequins.

I am loving the interactive die namics from MFT. So much easier and fun to make interactive cards. All the products I have used on my cards are available at both MFT store as well as Simon Says Stamp Store.

This is my take on the challenge.

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsI used this cute 3D Chickie sticker from Doodlebug on my card. The panel is made using watercolour paper on which I sponged Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio distress inks. I then spattered clear water and blotted them. Then sprayed with fine clear shimmer. I die cut this panel using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle die from Simon.

Tweet card closeup 1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

And to add more interest, I used the Heart Breeze die from Simon Says Stamp to die cut on the panel. The sentiment is from Springtime Critters stamp set from Simon Says Stamp stamped with Simon’s Intense Black Ink.. I felt the sentiment was perfect with the cute chickie sticker. I them simply adhered the chickie sticker on top of the sentiment ¬†and added a few Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkles.

So now it’s YOUR turn. ¬†Happy Crafting

I have combined Newton’s Nook A Cozy Day stamp set with Simon Says Stamp’s To Thine Own Shelf stamp set to create s scene on my card.
I stamped the image from Newton’s Nook stamp set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink ¬†and copic coloured the image. Then I hand cut the image out.

On the card front, I stamped the shelves and filled them with books, clock and boxes. I stamped them using Simon Says Stamp Hot Lips, Doll Pink, Jelly Bean, Sunshine, Fern and Stone dye inks. I used Cup O Joe Hero Arts Ink for the some of the books and pots. I used MISTI tool to stamp my images.

Winnie & Walter Cutaway release day #3

Hey everyone,
Today is day #3 of Winnie & Walter Cutaway release! I am show casing coordinating Cutaway for In Bloom: Lola’s Banquet stamp set. Here is the stamp set and the Cutaway.
In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya Cutaways
I adore this stamp set and was thrilled to see the coordinating cutaway released for this set. The best this is every image on the stamp set has coordinating cutaway for it including the layering images. How cool is that? I LOVE it. I have a card showcasing the new cutaway.
I pretty much stamped all the images from the stamp set on white cardstock panels using five different colours. Two shades of green, pink, yellow and blue. MISTI is perfect to do this. I adhered all the stamps on MISTI door and stamped all the images twice to get even coverage. I have used Altenew inks here. Then I used the coordinating cutaways and  die cut all the images out. Now I have heap of  die cut to use.
To assemble the card, I die cut the In a Word: Friend cutaway using gold glitter cardstock and adhered in the middle of the card front. I then clustered glued the die cuts in various colour combinations on the top left and bottom right of the sentiment die cut. I have so many die cuts left that I can make atleast three more cards out of them. Saves so much preparation time for the next card. Then I stamped the smaller sentiment from Bubble Talk stamp set on to a strip of white cardstock, trimmed the edges and adhered. Finally embellished with sparkly clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hey girl friend flat #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Hope you like my card. I love floral clusters and this one is special. All the new Cutaways are available for purchase at Winnie & Walter store.

My take on the challenge is inspired by both the colours and ocean picture  from the photo inspiration.
Happy Summer card
I have used Pool Play stamp set, Summer Fun dies, Sail Away stamp set and coordinating dies and Border Waves dies from Simon Says Stamp Summer collection.  I sponged Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon on either end of Strathmore watercolor paper. I then spattered clean water and blotting them off with paper towel. This added texture and  bubble like effect on the paper. I used the Waves border die and die cut the waves on end of the sponged watercolor paper, trimmed the paper at the centre so I can layer them. I also used the third Wave border die to die cut a grey vellum paper for the third layer.
For the focal point, I stamped the star fishes from Sail Away Stamp set, the boy and girl images from Pool Play stamp set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink, coloured with copic markers. I then die cut them using coordinating dies.

Happy Summer card closeup #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

On the layered waves card front, I stamped the summer phrase from Pool Play stamp set on the bottom of the card using Blueprint Sketch distress ink. And also the bubbles all over the waves using black intense ink. I adhered the copic coloured die cuts on top of the waves with sentiment stamped on strips of white cardstock. I felt the clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh was perfect addition on this card.

So now it’s YOUR turn. ¬†Happy Crafting

SSS Blooming Day!

Hello craft friends,
I have been playing with some of the new stamp set and dies from Simon Says Stamp Among the Stars collection. Two days ago I played with the Tropical Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies. Yesterday, I played with Blooming Day stamp set. Love the stylised floral and foliage in this set especially the highlights on them. I made one card using faux watercolouring technique to create the background. And the second card I simply stamped the images in cluster to show how beautiful the images are as is.
For this card, I stamped the images using distress inks on watercolour cardstock, then used the water brush to even out the colour and get watercolour look. I felt the images has no shades and depth to them. So I used a darker shade of the same colours from Zig Clean Brush watercolour pens and added shading to the images. Then I added some shadow using grey Zig pen. I lost highlights on the small flowers and so used white gel pen to add them. The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons stamp set, is white heat embossed on black cardstock and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

watercolour floral closuep//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For my second card, I simply stamped the images from the stamp set in a cluster.

Happy birthday floral flat//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I picked a pretty colour combination from Simon Says Stamp inks to stamp my images. I used Melon, Hollyhock and Willow inks from Simon Says Stamp. Stamped the images using MISTI on the top left corner of the panel. The sentiment is from Big Scripty Greetings also from Simon Says Stamp stamped in Delicata Black Shimmer ink.

Happy Birthday floral closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Since there was not enough black elements on the card, I trimmed off quarter of an inch form the panel, added a strip of gold glitter and a black and white diagonal striped pattern paper. Finally embellished with gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hope you like them both. I love this stamp set. One of my favorite from Among the Stars release by Simon Says Stamp.
