Day #3 of Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek!

Hey everyone,
Welcome back! This is my second post for today. Here is my Simon Says Stamp Challenge Post.
Today is day #3 of Taylored Expressions new release sneak peek. Hope you have enjoyed my Day #1 and Day#2 projects. I have more to share with you today. Again I am showcasing two new products. Two new stamp sets, first set fall themed called Bushel of Blessings and coordinating dies. The second birthday themed called Simply Stamped Cupcakes and coordinating dies.
Let me start with the fall themed stamp set Bushel of Blessings!

This is the inside of the card.

I have stamped and copic coloured the images from the Bushel of Blessings stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I dressed the inside of the card with paper from Harvest 6×6 pattern paper pack and added two pop up folds using the pattern paper leftovers. I adhered the stamped die cut images from Bushel of Blessings stamp set on to the pop up folds.

GAYATRIbushnelsofblessingsinsidecloseupWED//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I also added stamped images from the new Fall Florals stamp set using Pumpkin, Dijon, Mulled Wine, Basil TE dye inks and die cut them using the coordinating dies. Then I white heat embossed the sentiment from Bushel of Blessings. Then I used the flower sequins from Harvest sequins to embellish it.

GAYATRIbushnelofblessingsWED//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the card front, I used the plaid pattern paper from Harvest 6×6 pattern paper pack on the base. The top layer is stamped with images from the new Simply Stamped Leaves stamp set using TE dye inks and sponged with Toffee dye ink. The sentiment is from Bushel of Blessing stamp set white heat embossed on Oreo cardstock. Embellished with sequins from Harvest collection. I kept the front of the card simple.

I have listed all the products I used to make this card below

The second product I am showcasing is Simply Stamped: Cupcakes and coordinating dies.

I love layered stamp sets. Taylored Expressions have a series of Simply Stamped, all of them have layered stamp images. So gorgeous. This cupcake set is my favourite so far. I went to town with it stamping and made a bright colourful card.

GAYATRIsimplystampedcupcake1WED//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used only the second layer of the frosting and wrapper to make my cupcakes. I have used Toffee dye ink for the wrappers and Mint Julep, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry Milkshake dye inks for the frostings. I stamped the cherry in Cherry Pop and Granny Smith dye inks. I die cut them all out using the coordinating dies.

For the card front, I sponged the same dye inks I used for the frostings in ombre fashion. Then I used the streamers stamps from the new Party Streamers Stamp Set and inked up using the same colours of frosting and stamped using MISTI. I adhered the cupcakes using foam adhesives to give dimension. Cherries on top with glue. The sentiment is white heat embossed on Oreo cardstock, trimmed and adhered using foam adhesives as well. Finally embellished with sequins from Hello Happiness collection and added glossy accent to the cherries.

I have made a watercolour card using an colour combination which is outside the box for me.
I stamped the images from Avery Elle Canopy stamp set on to watercolour paper using MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Then I coloured the images with Zig clean brush markers. The colour combination was inspired by this picture from Pinterest.

(source: Pinterest)

I kept it soft and muted. That is unusual for me. I am brights girl but I do LOVE the muted look. I added some glossy accent to the centre of the flowers for added dimension. I also coloured the background with a warm grey.

Thank you closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

And not many card of mine escapes from my sequins collection. I have added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins to complete the card. I adhered the panel on to a baby pink card base with a bit of pink peeking on top and bottom of the panel.

It’s time for fall!

Welcome back dear friends,
Today is day #2 of Taylored Expressions new release sneak peeks. Yesterday was sneak peek day #1 and if you haven’t seen my projects for day #1, CLICK HERE!
Today’s theme is Fall! I am showcasing two new products today. My first is brand new to Taylored Expressions – background rubber cling stamps. Yes, we now have background stamps in the collection. I am showcasing the new Birch Tree background stamp with Woodsy Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.

These two stamp sets go well with each other. Here is my card.
I have white heat embossed the Birch Tree background on a white panel. Then sponged Jelly Donut, Candy Corn and Lemon Meringue TE dye inks to give fall sunset background feel. Toward the bottom of the card, I die cut two rolling hills using Granny Smith cardstock and Build a Scene Rolling Hills dies. I sponged Peapod TE dye ink to give a bit of depth. I layered and adhered them both. This is my background.

GAYATRIwoodsywishesandbirchtreebgcloseup1TUES//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I then stamped, copic coloured and die cut the animal images from Woodsy Wishes stamp set and adhered them on the rolling hills using foam adhesives. These critters are so cute. Absolutely love critters.

GAYATRIwoodsywishesandbirchtreebgcloseupTUES//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The sentiment from Woodsy Wishes stamp set is white heat embossed on Oreo cardstock, trimmed and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with sequins from Rainbow Bright sequins collection. Love how colourful this card turned out. All the supplies for this card are listed below.

The second new product I am showcasing today is a cutting plate called Thanks Cutting Plate. This cutting plate is beautiful with plenty of details on them.

GAYATRIthankscuttingplateTues//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I sponged watercolour paper with the new Mulled Wine, Dijon, Basil TE dye inks. Then to add layers and intense color, I smooshed them with Wild Honey, Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries and Forest Moss distress inks. I then die cut this panel using the Thanks cutting plate. I also die cut three more using white cardstock. I stacked glued them all for added dimension you can see below.

GAYATRIthankscuttingplateTuescloseup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I adhered this stacked Thanks die cut on a white card base. The white card base makes the colours on the cutting plate pop! I embellished with sequins from Harvest sequins collection. All the supplies used to make this card is listed below.

It’s time for sneak peek and a birthday celebration for Taylored Expressions

Hello and welcome to my blog!
Today is the start of sneak peek of new releases from Taylored Expressions. And it is also Taylored Expressions 8th Birthday! Its a wonderful milestone for Taylored Expressions. I wish Taylor and TE Happy Birthday and many more years of success!
Today’s sneak peeks feature two new birthday stamp sets and dies. The first stamp set to sneak peek today is called Bold Balloons. This stamp set also have matching dies.

I love balloons! Everybody loves balloons. This set has four different shapes of balloons and three sentiment threads. Very cool. Here is my card using the stamp set and dies.
I have simply stamped the big oval balloons from the stamp set using Pink Champagne, Cookie Monster, Saltwater Taffy, Lollipop and Mint Julep dye inks from TE. Then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I cluster glued them adding black twine behind them.

For the background of the card, I have embossed TE Lollipop cardstock with new Streamers embossing folder. LOVE the variety of streamers. I layered the balloon cluster on a vellum scalloped layer die cut using a die from Frame in Frame die set.

The sentiment is white heat embossed on Oreo cardstock, trimmed and adhered on the card front. I embellished with sequins from various TE sequins collections.

Card Supplies:

https://static.inlinkz.com/ppr.js

The second stamp set I am sneak peeking today is If Balloon could Talk stamp set and die combo.

This is a cute stamp set in the sense that you can add faces to the balloons and make it your own. How cute? I have couple cards to share using this stamp set. On the first one I have used the happy face on the balloons and clustered them.

I have stamped, watercoloured and die cut the balloons from the stamp set. I die cut a white cardstock using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I sponged Salt Water Taffy dye ink on the centre of the white stitched panel. Then adhered the balloon die cuts on top. I stamped the sentiment below the cluster. I also stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of paper, cut out the banner birthday from the sentiment and foam adhered on the sentiment on the panel.

GAYATRIifballoonscouldtalkcloseupMON//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

One the card front I adhered the pink pattern paper from Hello Happiness 6×6 pattern paper pack and foam mounted the white panel on top of it. Finally embellished with gold sparkly enamel dots from Doodlebug. I also brushed clear shimmer on the hats of the balloons.

Card Supplies:

https://static.inlinkz.com/ppr.js

On my next card, I simply stamped the balloons on watercolor paper and water coloured the balloons using Zig Clean Brush markers.

GAYATRIifballoonscouldtalkcard2MON//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I let the watercoloured balloons background be the highlight of the card. So I simply white heat embossed the sentiment on Oreo cardstock strip and adhered on the card front using foam adhesive. Then used the clear sequins from Build a Scene Halloween collection to embellish.

I have taken this challenge in the literal sense and made a square card. My card is 5″x5″.

I die cut masking paper using a square die and masked the centre of the card with the masking paper die cut to the centre of the card. Then I used MISTI to stamp layers of tropical leaves from Tropical Leaves stamp set. I have double stamped many of the leaves to get even coverage. I have used Simon Says Stamp Lucky, Jelly Bean, Willow, Malibu Blue, Melon, Sunshine and Hot Lips inks and Delicata Gold Pigment ink. Then I removed the masking paper. There was a bit of bleeding as I had double stamped and also stamped layers. Masking paper do not hold that much of ink from stamping. To fix the bleeding, I used my black fineliner and drew the border inside. This added a nice frame and contrast.
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

sending big hugs closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I stamped the greeting from Big Scripty Greetings in the centre using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink.  I felt the card needed a bit of dimension. So I stamped and die cut images from Tropical Leaves images and clustered adhered them diagonally opposite to the sentiment.

You’re a Star!

Hey everyone,
I have been MIA for long time. It feels ages since I blogged. A trip away from home and it is so difficult to get back to crafting. So much to catch up on the home front. Anyway, I have been pushing myself to craft over the weekend and was able to play with Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit.
Such a gorgeous card kit and I particularly like the stamp set and the white and kraft pattern papers. They have designs that are clear embossed so when you sponge ink, the designs show up. Cool!
Here is my first card using the kit.
I stamped the stars from the stamp set on white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Then used a sponge dauber to sponge distress inks Festive Berries from the card kit and Squeezed Lemonade from my stash. I then layered the stencil from the card kit on the stars and sponged Candid Apple and Wild Honey distress inks to add the texture of fireworks on the stars. I hand cut them all out.

You're a star closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The background is the white clear embossed pattern paper from the kit, I sponged Chipped sapphire distress ink and look those embossed patterns pop out! I stamped the sentiment on the pattern paper using MISTI. Then assembled the card. The red, blue and white striped pattern paper is also from the kit. Finally embellished with rose gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

You can find more inspiration using this card kit in the gallery.  This card kit is currently sold out but the stamp set, papers and distress inks are available for purchase separately!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Let’s Go Wild Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher

Make For The Border

this week we would like to see some sort of interest around the borders of your project, whether it is using a decorative border stamp, punch or die along one edge or around the whole project, we will be looking forward to seeing how you interpret this challenge!
We are showcasing Memory Box Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

For my challenge, I have used Weeping Willow Archway die from Memory Box to make the border on my blog.

I die cut the Weeping Willow Archway die using watercolour paper. Then I coloured the die cut using Zig Clean Brush markers. While the watercoloured die cut was drying, I stamped the images from Springtime Critters and Melody’s Easter stamp sets on watercolour paper and also coloured the images and background with Zig Clean Brush markers. The chicks I stamped on a scrap piece of watercolour paper, coloured and hand cut them out.

Happiest closeup1

I simply adhered the Weeping Willow die cut on top of the background coloured panel then layered adhered the chicks. The sentiment is from Springtime Critters stamp set. It actually says “Hoppiest wishes to you”. I used a black fineliner to make a ‘a’ out of ‘o’. Here are pictures of the card.

I am crafting after a few days break as I was away. I simply enjoyed colouring. This is the first time I have got back into crafting the day I came back. Pretty happy with how the card turned out. Hope you like it too.

I went wild with flowers for the challenge and made two cards. It has become a habit of making at least two cards when I open a new stamp set or die. It is easier to make more cards when making one than planning to make another at a later time. Here is my first card.

Wplus9 designs are one of my favourite in the industry. Some are hand drawn by Dawn and are the designs are unique. This new set called Summer Blooms stamp set has been sitting on my desk for almost a few weeks now. LOVE the stylised flowers and leaves building design and I went to town stamping them.

I have used Altenew inks of Mango Smoothie, Lavender Fields, Cotton Candy, Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf inks to stamp my images. And I did use my mini MISTI to get a good impression as I have cubes of these inks. I don’t get good results with cubes. So double stamping with MISTI helps. The sentiment is from That Is All stamp set. I simply stamped the sentiment on top of the stamped images using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Again double stamped to get even coverage. Since the sentiment font is big and bold, it popped out against the colourful background. I adhered the panel on to Simon Says Stamp Green Apple card base. Embellished with Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sequins.

My second card also uses Altenew inks for stamping the florals and leaves. I changed the orientation of the card and the stamped image on the panel. It always works when you have portrait orientation to stamped the images from bottom of the card front leaving white space on the top. And when you have landscape orientation to have the stamped images on the top and white space on the bottom. I prefer it this way.

Wild with Wplus9//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For this card, the sentiment is from Summer Blooms stamp set which I have stamped using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I adhered the panel on to a pink card base and embellished with 4mm and 6mm Pretty Pink Posh Onyx sequins.

Thank you closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have a lot of coloured cardstocks and I have not been using them much. I always go for white cardstock when I make my cards. I decided I will make my card front using white card stock panel and make coloured card bases. I will pick the colour of my card base from the colour on the card front. This way I am using up my coloured cardstocks. Once I use up all my coloured cardstocks, then I will restart making card bases using white cardstock. Do I make sense?
Hope you like my cards for the challenge today. You can go wild with anything. Wild does not have to be wild animals. 🙂

Thank you flat//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Spiritual Themed Taylored Expressions Cards!

Oh Hello everyone!

Today I have two Spiritual themed cards for Taylored Expressions and I have used watercolour technique to create backgrounds for these cards.  The cards have different technique used. So here is my first card.

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsI first started with die cutting watercolour paper using the largest stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die set. Then I Gold heat embossed the He is God stamp on the centre of the watercoloured panel. Then I used the brush stroke image from Stroke of Genius 2 stamp set to stamp on the background using Granny Smith, Strawberry Milkshake and Lemon Meringue TE inks. I used my mini MISTI inks to get a good impression of the brush strokes as I was stamping over embossed images and on watercolour textured paper.

Once dry, I used distress inks Mowed Lawn, Abandoned Coral and Mustard Seed to colour wash behind the brush stroke images. I let the panel dry. Once dry, I was not happy with the gold embossing as it got lost in the background. So I used my black fineliner to add outline to the embossed images. Now the sentiment stands out againsts the watercoloured background. I love the brush stroke stamped image giving texture to the background. I mounted the panel on Toffee card base using craft foam. Finally added some gold enamel dots. I like the sentiment be the focus of the card.

For the second card, I embossed the same spiritual sentiment on watercolour panel die cut out of the largest stitched die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. This time I embossed using Liquid Platinum powder. For the background, I first used Gansai Tambi watercolour to do a light watercolour wash. Once dry, I wanted to add layers and intensify the colours. So I used distress inks, Candied Apple, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed to do ink smooshing technique. I love the soft and hard edges and layers of colours.

spiritual card2//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The platinum embossed sentiment is soft yet pops against the background. So I left it as it. No outlining the sentiment.Again, mounted the panel on Toffee card base using craft foam. Embellished with gold sparkle enamel dots.
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Spiritual card 2 angled//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Hope you like the two watercolour techniques. You can get that layers of watercolour in two different ways. And you can use two different mediums to add layers and get the colour intensity. This techniques particularly works if you have a big bold sentiment for the focal point.

Winnie & Walter’s Rerun Feature and a Challenge!

Hey everyone,

Edited: I am late in posting my post for Winnie & Walter’s rerun feature. I scheduled it and for some reason I did not see the post live when I woke up this morning. So here I am editing the post again and adding my apologies for not posting on time.

Rerun is a feature at Winnie & Walter’s blog which runs first of every month where one product is featured and that product is on sale for the entire month. There are plenty of inspiration using that product on W&W Blog for you by the designers.

This month the featured product is In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet.

I love this stamp set and have used this set so much that some of the stamp are very stained. You know what I mean! I am so glad that there are coordinating dies for this set now. Here is my card using this stamp set.

Enjoy your birthday1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have stamped the outline flowers and leaves images from the stamp set using light grey ink on a white card panel. Die cut the panel using the largest rectangle die from Essentials: Katharine Cutaway and adhered on a kraft card base.

Enjoy your birthday closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For  the focal point, I stamped the layered flowers in two shades of yellow, the outline leaves and solid leaves in two shades of green and die cut them out. The vase, I sponged Salty Ocean distress ink, then stamped the vase image and hand cut it out because I did not want the white outline around the image. I clustered the flowers and leaves and adhered the cluster on the vase. Adhered the entire arrangement on a vellum panel using foam adhesives and the entire vellum panel on top of the stamped card front.

Enjoy your birthday flat//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I stamped the sentiment from Sugar Rush stamp set from W&W on the banner die cut from Essentials: Katharine Cutaway and adhered as shown. Finally added some rose gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Check out Winnie & Walter Blog for more DT inspiration and the store to purchase this stamp set at a discount.
