Year 2011 in a nutshell

It is already 2012 for me in Australia. Cheez!, 2011 went by so quickly. I had a good year generally speaking. Now looking foward to 2012.

 I thought I will review my projects for 2011. I picked couple of cards from each month to showcase today. So relax with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy.

I had a great year craft wise. Learned an lot and saw myself evolve and find my style. Now looking forward to learning more this year.

I have changed my blog look for the new year. I will also be adding a supply list to my projects and  do tutorials/videos this year. Very excited 🙂

MIM #45

Hey everybody, 

One more day until holidays starts Yay! I watched PTI’s MIM video today and made a card for Make It Monday #45.

This technique is very cool. Colouring using copics on embossed images:)

And here is my take on the technique.

I used Four of a Kind stamp set from Papertrey Ink and embossed the image using white embossing powder. Then coloured with copics and also did some shading. The sentiment tag is a printable from Papertrey Ink released during the anniversay celebrations. Here is the link to the printable tags.

This is a very cool way of adding colour and texture to a card especially against the dark background. Thanks for sharing the technique, Lisa!

Beware! Lot and lots of photos

Yup, I have lots and lots of photos to show you. Firstly I made a set of cards using Mehindi Medallion and Think Big Favourites #5 from Papertrey Ink.

Loving the simple design and the colors. I used the “teacher” stamp from Teacher’s Apple also from Papertrey Ink. It was difficult to take photos because of this guy trying to climb on me! So the cards in my photos are all facing different directions lol! I just have to quickly snap shots or else I will have probably dropped my expensive camera. Here he sits beautifully for photographs like a cute, obedient puppy!

This little guy is 10 weeks today! He is very delightful, lightning fast and very quick learner. We have had him for only two weeks and he has already learned to sit upon command, similarly drop, stay and wait until his food is put in his tray and say you can eat now 🙂 Love love sitting on my feet. Loves licking my  moisturizing cream off my face lol!!! I wonder why we put off getting a dog for so long. Love him 🙂

Celebrating you….

How is the day treating you? Its Monday morning for me and I have just come back after a theapy session. I restarted work and I am doing ABA therapy for children with Autism. I am loving it. Anyway, I had recently won a set called “Celebrating You” and did make a post on my blog here. Well, I managed to ink the stamp and made couple of cards. So here they are:

Isn’t that Fuschia flower so pretty? I love it and the senitments are awesome too.  The font of the sentiment is lovely. All the swirls and curls… beauitufl!
Here is the second card.

The pattern papers are from Kaisercraft Lush Collection. Beautiful papers and not a new release. I don’t know how I missed them for so long! The flowers and leaves are from Prima Marketing. Brads and lace is also from Kaisercraft.Cardstock from Papertrey Ink.
I love love this stamp set “Celebrating You” from Crafts Meow. Thanks Lisa, Nina and team for the beautiful prize. Hope you like it )

For the love of bicycles

I have recently fallen for bicycles. Especially the old antique bicycles with the baskets. Its just chic, I think!I used to ride to school in my bicycle until my 12th grade. I don’t have that bicycle but I have a mountain bike now. I ride during spring and summer. Love to ride.
I once owned  a purple bicycle with a green basket 8 years ago in India. I left it with my in-laws when I moved to Australia. I love that bike. It was so pretty and chic.

Kaisercraft this month released a collection called Pink Gelato which has  beautiful bicycles on them. Of course, I wanted them and bought the Paper Pad and Chipboard. Here is another picture of the card.

Sentiment and cardstock from Papertrey Ink and pattern papers from Kaisercraft as well. I now hope that Papertrey Ink or any other company release a nice bicycle stamp set. Don’t you think so? Its a must have to me and a great set to add to my stamp collection 🙂

Card Pattern #107

Morning everybody, Monday morning for me here in Australia. I am sipping my cup of coffee and writing this post. I had made a card last night for Card Patterns Sketch #107. Here is the link to the sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I have used Prima Marketing Annalese pattern paper, handmade wriinkled ribbon, Wplus9 and PTI stamps, Kaisercraft’s rhinestones, Prima Marketing’s flower, PTI’s button and SU’s cardstocks. Love the colors and happy with how it turned out. Hope you like it too 🙂

For Card Pattern Sketch #106

 I have been saving their sketches every week wanting to use them. But just could not find the time. But this week I made the time for Card Pattern Sketch and here is my take on the sketch.

I love the diagonal cut on the background. I would never think about doing something on my own. So it was a challenge for me. I used Cosmo Cricket pattern papers. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, Lace from Kaisercraft, Doily die from MFT, Leaves cut using SU die, paper flowers from Kaisercraft and cardstocks from SU and Papertrey Ink.

I love my card and hope you do so too! Maybe I should try more diagonal cut background. Thanks for the challenge 🙂

Some cards

Here are the two cards I made for the February Ready Set Scrap cyber crop challenge over the weekend. The first one was for Liz’s challenge using a sketch she provided.
The second one is for Kirsti’s challenge.
I have a collection of valentine’s card to hand out to all the loved ones.

Over the weekend, we had very sad news in Australia.
Victoria state had the worst bush fire in history and there are more than 100 homes destroyed and about 110 people dead so far.
Worst of all, many of the fires were light by some stupid arsonist.
I can’t understand why somebody will do such a thing??????????
I was choked with tears watching the news. Many towns have perished.
Some of the towns I have visited previously and they are very small community.
Very sad and very scary. People’s lives have changed all of a sudden.
They are left with nothing!! that’s scary!
May the strength and will power be with them to start their new life!

Tamara’s card sketch and the card…

This is the Thursday card sketch at Tamara’s Sketch blog

I discovered this awesome blog for challenges and sketches recently.
Each day there is a different challenge. Love it.

And this is my take on the card sketch.
I have used cuttle bug and embossed the white card stock
and also the pram stamp piece is also cut and embossed using cuttle bug.
I normally go for brights but I made this for my brother and SIL,
who is expecting a baby in April this year. I am pleased with the outcome.

Basic Grey Recipe Challenge #19

This is my take on the Recipe Challenge #19 at Basic Grey Blog.
I have used Basic Grey Stella Ruby and Urban Prairie papers.
There is a ribbon, 3 brads and a button as per the recipe! lol!!
Flower from Prima and the alpha is from Basic Grey as well.
I am so in love with these character stamps and painting them.
Wish I had more of these character stamps in my collection.
Well, will be soon I think!!Hehehe!!!
