Golden Key!

Hello everybody,

Sharing with you a card I made for the latest ColourQ challenge.

I got excited seeing the colours especially the GOLD! Gold is so trendy at the moment. I have pinned about hundreds of picture on my Pinterest Board called GOLD (obviously, Hehehe!). So I had to play this challenge. I made not one but two cards for the challenge.

Here is my first card today.

I have diecut the Lock and Key dies from My Favorite Things for my arrangment.  I wanted one golden key. I had a brushed golden cardstock from stampin’ Up! but it was dull. So I swiped the gold colourbox ink on white cardstock, heat dried it and die cut the golden key. Still, it was not the finish I wanted. I wanted something sparkly. I was expecting by gold glitter glue to arrive but there was no chance as it was already Friday afternoon. No postal services for the weekend. Just then my daughter walked in with couple of nail polish asked for help to put them on. In her hand was a chunky gold glitter top coat nail polish 🙂 Light bulb moment! I tried it on a spare piece of diecut and it looked awesome. Just what I wanted. I felt like a child given a candy lol! So I brushed my golden key with the top coat of the chunky gold glitter nail polish. Not once but three times.

 Here is the closeup of the key.

How gorgeous and glittery is that key? Perfect for the sentiment from a stamp set from PTI. I mounted this panel on to a brushed golden panel which is mounted on the card front stamped with text background from MFT using Soft Granite Ink.

Love it when common household items come in handy when needed 🙂 Don’t you think so? Hope you like my card because I am proud of it.

Camera Craze vs ColourQ #178

Hey all once again! Second post for today:)

Another card share I made last week for couple of challenges and before I miss the deadline, I better blog it.
I have used ColourQ Challenge colours to make a card using camera image for The Camera Craze Challenge @ Moxie Fab World.

  

Here is my card.

Love love the Picture It stamp set from Avery Elle. The instagram camera image is so cute with the rounded corner Polaroid frame is awesome. I love how this card turned out especially the sketch of this card.

You color my world!

Hey peeps!

After enjoying the company of my friend today, I was full of ideas and mojo to craft. So went through some challenge blogs and started to work on a project.

I like to experiment with stamps. And Moxie Fab World’s 75 Creative Cards Challenge – Make your own background paper was a perfect challenge to play along. So I pulled out Lovely Layers Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink and looked for a colour combination to work with! I remembered the new ColourQ challenge #172. 

 
 
Using the colours from ColourQ challenge colours, I set out to stamp my background paper.

Here is my fully stamped background paper using the colours from ColourQ Challenge.

And here is my card I made using my background paper.

I went for a stationery look. So I used Fillable Frame diecut stamped with fillable frame stamp and senitment from Beautiful Butterflies. I layered it on a strip of gray cardstock and wrapped around the background paper.

I have also added rhinestones to the center of the stamped images for added interest.
I am pretty stoked with the outcome of this card. This is one card, I will keep and not giveaway this card.

ColourQ #152

A quick post sharing a card for ColourQ #152. 

Here are the colours.

And here is my take on the challenge.

I have used brick stamp from Prima Marketing and Trendy Trees from PTI. I have layered the Bermuda Bay tree top with green underlay but it does not seem to show in the photo. Love how this card came together. Great colours this week too. I missed last week’s challenge. Love that combination as well.

 I haven’t crafted as frequently as I do generally because life became hectic. Hopefully after this weekend, things settle down. And I get to spend some time in my craft room.

ColourQ #149

G’ Morning!

It Saturday morning for me and what a gorgeous day? I think Spring is here. It is warm filled with sunshine and beautiful outside. LOVE it. I am through the miserable winter weather wearing layers of clothes and shivering. Cannot wait to get out in the sun and enjoy.

Anyway, here is a card I make for ColourQ #149.

But first here are the colours.

I like this combo as lot but I kept the combination simple this time.

I don’t have the new colours of SU but I have used colours that are close to the given colours. I also used an SU stamp which I bought and did not crack open for like 2 years??? I have combined three stamp sets on this simple card. Two from PTI- Calendar Basics and Rosie Posie and one set from SU-Funky Four. Love how they all came together and hope you do too:)

Evening Everybody!

I have a card today for ColourQ Challenge #147. 

Here are the colours for you

The first thing that came to my mind see the picture on the panel isFish More stamp set from Wplus9. I had bought them but hadn’t inked them. So this challenge was perfect to crack open the Fish More stamp set from Wplus9. 

 

Here is my card inspired by the picture of the rug? or tea towel? from the colour panel.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Not quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss cardstock from SU. White cardstock from Wplus9

Stamp sets: Fish More from Wplus9

Inks: Pacific Blue, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze from SU and Archival Jet Black ink

What a great masculine card! Love the stamp set. Although our family is a vegetarian family, all our friends eat meat and fish. I can give this card to my friend whose father is retiring in a few months and he love fishing:)

Second post for today! 

Sharing in this post a card I made for ColourQ #146

Supplies:

Cardstock: Gina K Luxury White cardstock. Reall Red, Petal Pizzaz, Kraft and Basic Black from SU

Stamp Set:  Flower Garden  and Typically Teen from The Craft’s Meow

Inks: Colour Box Frost White Ink and Archival jet Black Ink

Accessories: White embossing powder, Cheveron dies from MFT, heat gun.

I have diecut chevrons using the red, green, black and kraft and adhered them on a piece scrap cardstock and heat embossed the flowers using white embossing powder. I love how the embossed flowers look against each colour. Love it. Hope you do too.

You are the best!

Morning! Gorgeous Sunday after a frosty start.
Slept in today as yesterday was a very hectic day. Had garage sales and it all went very well. 90% of the lot gone and suprisingly made lots of money 🙂 More than enough to buy a piano for my daughter. So much greeting and talking has made my throat sore 😦
But I had made a few cards on Friday and here is one of them.

I had couple of packages delivered last week and I have the new Hero Arts Neon Inks with me 🙂 Cannot wait to use them. Played with this gorgeous Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamp set called You are the Best.I have used rock n roll technique on the center of the medallion and the ribbons.The colours I have used for this card is from the latest ColourQ challenge colours.

Today is washing day for me. Sun is shining after a week of rain. Plenty to wash and dry and iron:( Well, I better get going.

Inks: So Saffron, Pacific Blu, Poppy Parade and Basic Gray from SU. Archival Jet Black Ink

Accessories: Hexagon dies from MFT

This is quick post as Aditi is down with high fever and a bit delirious. She get better after medication but as the medication wears off, fever sets in:( Inhouse doctor says it a nasty virus. No antibiotics. Just paracetamol, lots of fluid and TLC from mom is all that is needed. Hopefully, she will get better over the weekend.
