Essentials by Ellen, Publications, Taylored Expressions

Hello everyone,
A quick post to share one of my card published in the latest Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine.
See that card inside a circle on the right side for designing with clouds theme! Thats the one. Here is the full reveal.
I have used Taylored Expressions Build a Scene: Rolling Clouds dies to make my background. I die cut  the clouds, sponged distress inks on them and then layered glued them to make my background. To keep the background as the highlight because that is the theme, I added another die cut as the sentiment in contrast colour. The sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen. And embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins. Hope you like it.

Pretty Pink Posh October New Release Blog Hop!

Hello dear friends,

Welcome to Pretty Pink Posh October new release blog hop!

You should have arrived here from the talented and gorgeous Julia Altermann‘s blog. If not, don’t worry I will provide a list of  designers participating in the blog hop towards the end of this post.
Paulina has release three set of dies, five new sequins mixes and droplets in two sizes. As always, they are all gorgeous. All are available to purchase from Pretty Pink Posh shop,
I LOVE the decorative tag die. It caught my eye the first time Paulina shared the picture with us designers. They will make beautiful accents on a card apart from using as a tag. I imagined the decorative tag in gold used on a card with floral motifs. I couldn’t wait to receive the dies. The Clear Droplets are awesome. They have dimension, flat bottom so they can be easily adhered and subtle accents to any card. Love them. I have couple of cards using the Decorative Tag 1 die and the Clear droplets. Make your self a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the hop.
Card #1
Be merry card

For this card, I have used images from two stamp sets called Mondo Poinsettia and Mistletoe & Holly stamp sets from Essentials By Ellen. I stamped the mistletoe image on the card front using Soft Leaf ink by Hero Arts and coloured the inside of the leaves with beige Zig Clean Brush Pen. I then added a vellum layer. I stamped and watercolour the poinsettia and leaves, die cut them out and cluster glued them. Since the colours on the background and the focal flower cluster are soft and pastel, I wanted the decorative tag to have a bold contrast. So die cut the decorative tag using black glitter paper. I adhered them on vellum flush, then the poinsettia cluster using foam adhesive to give dimension. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamp set called Family and Friends Christmas. I LOVE the contrast the black tag against the pastel colours on the card. The addition of clear droplets look like dew drops on the card. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Clear droplets are a must have embellishment in my opinion.

Be Merry Flat//

Card #2

In this card, I have used the decorative tag in gold.

Merry Christmas card//

On this card, I have used the images from the same stamp sets as the previous card except that I used bright and pretty colours combination of pink and green. Since the colours were bright, I decided to diecut the decorative tag in gold. Here is raised the outer decortive tag using foam adhesives and the inner piece is glued flush. You can see the gold on the decorative tag better in the photo below.

Merry Christmas card 1//

I also layered the poinsettias before adding leaves. The poinsettias and leaves are watercoloured using Zig Clean Brush pens. The golden decorative tag makes gives a rich feel to the card. And the clear droplets are my dew drops on the card bringing all the elements on the card together.

Christmas card flat//

I always get carried away when I start to create with new goodies. So lucky you I have one more card share. This one is using the Mini Tag Dies.

Dashing through the No!//

I love the look of the curved mini tag die in the set. So I simply die cut a few of them using watercolour paper. I love the texture of the watercolour paper. On of the tags, I stamped and  watercoloured the grumpy snowman from Holiday Grumplings stamp set from Taylored Expressions. On another tag, I stamped the sentiment. I then randomly arranged the tags on a white panel and adhered a few flush on the panel and the rest using foam adhesives for dimension.

Dashing through the no flat 1//

I trimmed the panel  and adhered on red card base leaving a little border of red on top and bottom. To bring in the colours together, I have added metallic sequins from Classic Christmas mix and Clear Droplets. I also added gold twine with a bow on the spine of the card base. I love the stitched detail on the mini tags. These are so cute and can be used as banners as well on a card.

Hope you like all my cards. You next stop is to the talented Nicole Picadura‘s blog.

Here is the list of all the designers participating in the blog hop.

Make sure you leave some love to all the designers in the blog hop. There are two $25 gift certificates up for grabs. Winners will be picked randomly along the blog hop. Comments must be left by 11:59 PM PDT 10/18/15. Winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog.

Runway Inspired Challenge #92

Good morning everyone,

Sharing with you my card for the new Runway Inspired Challenge today. I am late in getting my card for the challenge as I was away over the weekend and still trying to catch up on everything. But hey I am here now. The newest challenge is Runway Inspired Challenge #92

Looking at this outfit, my immediate thought is watercolouring. So I made a Christmas card using watercolouring technique.

Holiday Season card//

I started with stamping the images from Essentials By Ellen stamp set called Mistletoe and Holly in black and clear embossed the images. The sentiment is also from the stamp set stamped and red heat embossed. I then picked the colours from the challenge outfit and coloured the images and the background. Then trimmed off quart of an inch on the sides to adhered on red card base to give a nice red border edge. To highlight them sentiment, I die cut a green frame using two stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set to adhered using foam adhesive for added dimension. finally, embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

August Mix it Up challenge!

Hey everyone,
I spent some time yesterday organizing my craft space. My desk was over flowing that I kept loosing stuff and spent more time searching than crafting. So I clean my desk and rearranged  a few things around to create more space. Also I bought IKEA’s Raskog cart recently. I organised stuff into the cart as well. With some awesome inspirations from dear craft friends from FB, I did organise the top and middle shelves of the cart. I now had an awesome clean desk and organized space. It made me craft and I made a card. 🙂 I made a Halloween card for August Mix It Up Challenge at Ellen Hutson blog.  This month’s mix up is with Clearly Besotted. Here is my card for the challenge.
I used Halloween Spirit stamp set from Clearly Besotted along with Got Candy stamp set from Essentials By Ellen to stamp and make the background on my card. I used Halloween colours to stamp all the tiny images from both the sets. For the focal point, I stamped and cut the BOO! frame from Halloween Spirit  stamp set and the ghost from Got Candy stamp set. I made a slit on the frame and slide the ghost image from the back to the front as though the ghost image is scaring somebody. Got it? I have a thought block on this. lol!  I adhered this on a purple striped acetate sheet from We’re Memory Keepers. The sentiment is from Got Candy stamp set stamped on a strip of white cardstock and adhered using foam adhesive. I also stamped and die cut the bats from Got Candy stamp set and added to the panel. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Tangerine 6mm and Pumpkin 4mm sequins.

Hello Gorgeous!

A quick post today. I made this card in twenty minutes this morning before going to IKEA. My friend wanted to come along but she has some work to finish first. So in that time, I decide to make a card for Ellen Hutson’s Pin Sights Challenge. Here is the Pin Sights Inspiration.
This is my card for the challenge.
I started with spattering my card base with navy Mr. Huey and left it to dry. To make my focal point, I sponged a scrap piece of white textured card stock with Fired Brick and Ripe Persimmon distress inks. Then sprayed with some Wplus9 shimmer. Once dry, I die cut all the elements using Wild Garden die set from Essentials by Ellen. Then clustered and glued the flowers and leaves on the card front.
For sentiment, I red heat embossed the “Hello Gorgeous” from Hello Gorgeous stamp set from Essentials By Ellen on a navy cardstock. I adhered this using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Cobalt and Raspberry sequins along with white rhinestones.

Playing Mix it Up Challenge From Ellen Hutson!

Hey everyone!
So glad you have joined me today at my blog. Hope you have having a great weekend especially my dear American friends who celebrated 4th of July American Day! I had an amazing weekend. Saturday was busy with cooking marathon and then hosting dinner party. Sunday has been quiet and relaxing with nothing much to do. So I caught up on my design team work and also couple of challenges. One of the challenges I played along is Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge. This month it is the fabulous Paper Smooches that they are mixing up with. Here is my card mixing Essentials By Ellen and Paper Smooches.
Celebrate card
To make my card, I started with couple of stamps from Botanicals stamp set by Paper Smooches. I stamped them on the white card panel using Hero Arts Blue to Navy ombre ink pad. I really really love these inkpads. They really add a lot of impact by just stamping using these ombre inkpads. And by stamping and layering the images, I wanted to create that impact. I also stamped the same images on a scrap piece of cardstock to die cut my sentiment. The sentiment is from Essentials By Ellen Zipper Panel die set. I also die cut a few more using scrap piece of white cardstock to stack and glue under the stamped die cut for added dimension. Before I glued this stacked die cut in place, I sponged some Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick distress inks towards the bottom of the card panel. This added colour and made the die cut sentiment pop out more. To bring the card together, I embellished with Orchid 6mm and 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I also added some droplets of glossy accents as dew drops on the foliage. Here are couple of closeups

June Pin Sights Challenge

I am back today with a card I made for this month’s Pin Sights Challenge by Ellen Hutson.
Here is the challenge mood board.
I loved the open paint cans lined up next to each other. Tried to recreate that pattern but I wanted to add a bit more than just coloured circled next to each other. I chose Bokeh Dots stamp set by Ellen Hutson to make my card because I wanted to use the two outline circle images in the set. I stamped the large circles next to each other in two rows. Then the smaller circles again white heat embossed inside the large circles offset at different sides. Watercoloured using Zig Clean Brush Pens. Here is my finished card.
For pin Sights challenge1
The sentiment is from Amazing Women stamp set also from Ellen Hutson is white heat embossed on black cardstock. I cut the edges into fish tail and adhered on the watercoloured panel with some gold thread and foam adhesive. Finally Sparkly Clear sequins to embellish and bring the card together.
Pin Sights challenge closeup
The colours are gorgeous inside the circles and makes a great impact.

Pretty Pink Posh Watercolour Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop! Yay!

Watercolouring is currently a massive trend with the cardmakers. So this hop is going to great fun and also a great resource for watercoloured cards.
I have three projects for the blog hop. Here is my first card.
Happy Birthday card
I have used Addie’s garden stamp set from Winnie & Walter to stamp and white heat embossed on watercolour card stock. Then I have used the Zig Real Brush watercolour pens to colour the images and the background. Once dry, I die cut the stitched rectangle panel from Pretty Pink Posh Stitched duo 2 die set. I also die cut three more of the rectangles using scrap cardstock. All the rectangle die cuts were stacked and glued with the watercoloured rectangle die cut on the top.
I adhered the watercoloured rectangle frame on the card front using foam adhesives. Then inlaid the stacked stitched rectangle panel back in its place. I then stamped the sentiment from The Party stamp set also from Winnie & Walter. Then the gorgeous Sparkly Clear sequins accented and pulled the card together. Here is a closeup!
Happy Birthday clsoeup
Here is second card for the hop.
Most amazing friend
On this card, I have used Bohemian Garden stamp set from Essential By Ellen which I have stamped and  white heat embossed on watercolour card. The flwers and leaves are watercoloured using Zig Gansai Tambi Watercolour.  I then spattered some black Mr. Huey on the panel. The frame is from Taylored Expression called Frame in a Frame die set which is adhered using foam adhesive for some dimension. The sentiment is from Amazing Women stamp set from Essential By Ellen. Finally accented with Pretty Pink Posh’s Onyx sequins. Here is a closeup!
Most amazing friend closeup
And finally the last card for the hop.
Happy birthday to you
I stamped and watercoloured to create my own pattern paper. The stamp sets I used are from Simon Says Stamp’s Friendly Flowers stamp set and Wplus9’s Fresh Cut Florals. I inked them with distress inks, misted with water and stamped on the watercolour paper. That gave a lovely watercolour look but I wanted the edges to wash out and not be perfect. So I sprayed the entire stamped panel with water to get the colours to bleed and soften the edges of the images. I used Mama Elephant dies to die cut the scallop panel. The panel looks so pretty but very bold. I then die cut a vellum panel using the same Mama Elephant die set to layer over the panel. Then sentiment is stamped on the Stitched Banner Duo die die cut using white cardstock which is layered on the vellum. The sentiment is from Strictly Sentiment 5 stamp set from Wplus9. Finally accented with Orchid, Lime Sorbet and Amethyst sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a closeup!
Happy Birthday to you closeup
