I used the beautiful Floral Border with Frame die from Hero Arts along with Flowing Vine Collage die from Simon Says Stamp to create a card.
season's greeting 1
These two dies layer beautifully and go with each other. I die cut two white panels using the second and third rectangle die from Hero Arts infinity rectangle die set. Then on the largest panel I used Hero Arts Floral Border die to die cut and the SSS Flowing Vine Collage die on the second panel. I added acetate sheet behind both the panels and layered the panel using foam adhesives to add dimension. I brushed gold pigment ink on edges of top panel.
For the background, I watercoloured rich purple to red watercolour on watercolour paper. I left it to air dry then trimmed the panel and added to the layered panels using foam adhesives. I adhered the completed panels to the white card base which is also brushed with gold pigment ink on the edges.
For the sentiment I die cut Season’s Greetings using SSS Season’s Greetings die and gold mirror cardstock. I adhered the sentiment flush on the centre of the card front. Then embellished with gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

I have couple of cards for this challenge.
Happy Birthday
I have used the Bold Daisy stencil from Hero Arts to make my background. I was watching TV and sponged some distress ink colours in random combination on a few white card panels. Then I choose couple of panel that I liked to make my card. Rainbow colours are always my favourite. I trimmed the panel smaller than the card front, spattered water to get texture on the card and adhered the panel to the fog card front.

The beautiful rainbow bold daisy is the highlight of the card. So my sentiment will be bold with high contrast and it will be my focal point. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Painted Birthday die. I die cut three out of black card stock and layered glued them for added dimension.  I adhered the sentiment die cut on the top centre of the card front and embellished with rose gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

For my second card, I simply loved the colour combination of distress inks I sponged on the stencil. I have used Blueprint Sketch, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

Blue and yellowHB//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The yellow ink at the centre of the panel gives a glow behind the bold contrasting sentiment die cut. Everything else is the same as the previous card except for the colour combination and the orientation of the card. Hope you like both my cards. I did not like the colour combination of the two other panels I sponged. I am not giving up on them but will try and reinvent them to make cards.

I made a colourful flowery background girlie card.
I have used Layering for you Flowers stamp set from Hero Arts to stamp and create my pretty background. LOVE layering stamp sets. They make the best background giving the images shading and depth. I used MISTI and Altenew inks to get even coverage and precision stamping of layers.

Mum card//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the focal point, I have bunched up thread, then gold foiled Scribble Heart die cut from Simon Says Stamp followed by a strip of black card stock with “MUM” die cut using the Block Alphabet  die from Simon Says Stamp. I brushed Wink of Stella shimmer on the black strip of cardstock. Finally embellished with Gold Sequins from  Pretty Pink Posh.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE this stamp set from Hero Arts. Such a beautiful set and with various colour combination and same layout, I made a bunch of them. Unfortunately they were given away before I could take photos. Maybe  I will make another set.

The background for my card is inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s video on monochromatic layering.  I used the flowers and leaves from Hero Arts Layering Bird and Branch set. I used blue cardstock as my base, then stamped the solid images with Soft Navy ink covering the entire panel. Then I used Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink to stamped the layering images. I love how bright the white pigment ink is on the dark blue ink. I filled in the gaps with circles from Happy Stamp and Cut from Hero Arts. The background is beautiful. Thank you Jennifer for sharing this cool technique.
I then added a stitched frame layer  made using Stitched Rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp. The  vellum leaves are from Simon Says stamp Clustered Leaves die. I them stamped the sentiment from Summer Garden stamp set using Soft Navy ink on a rectangle piece of white cardstock. I adhered the leaves behind the rectangle sentiment panel then adhered the panel using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Clear Droplets and Blue Lagoon iridescent sequins. Here is a closeup of the card.

Kraft, White and a colour!

Morning everyone,
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend or a Mad Monday for those in Australia and New Zealand. Mine is a mad Monday. My son came back from his Italy trip last night. So happy to see him 🙂 He has not stopped talking about his trip. We have thousands of photos to see and more to listen. He has definitely enjoyed the trip. Very happy for him.  School restarts tomorrow. I cannot wait for it. Last two weeks of spring break was chaotic but lovely at home. I now need to fall back into routine and also get some me time to restart crafting. I have lots to catch up.
I am late in sharing this post for the reasons above. But better late than never!
There is a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero Blog.
This is a great challenge. I love kraft and white together and a splash of one colour will make the colour pop.
This is my take on the challenge.
This month  we are also collaborating with Lawn Fawn. I have used the chevron border stamp set from Lawn Fawn to stamp with Lipstick Red SSS ink to get the chevron background. on white cardstock. For the second layer, I used kraft cardstock and white heat embossed the images from Deck the Hall stamp set from Hero Arts. The third layer is vellum on which I red heat embossed the images from Deck the Hall stamp set and  Holiday Petals and Leaves stamp set from Hero Arts. Final layer is the sentiment from Hero Arts Holiday Petals and Leaves stamp set stamped in black on a strip of white card stock. All the layers are adhered using foam adhesives to give dimension. Finally I adhered some red metallic sequins from Pretty Pink Posh on the horns and bow. Here is a closeup of the card.

Check out A Blog Named Hero blog for more design team inspiration.

As always, our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, will award one random entry with a $25 gift voucher.
Come and play along the challenge.

This is my take on the challenge using Hero Arts stamp sets and dies.

You make me happy//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
I started with die cutting some masking paper using the dog die from Cute Baby Animals Stamp and Cut from Hero Arts. I adhered these masking paper die cuts randomly on a white cardstock panel making sure I  burnish and smoothen the edges. Then I sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink over the entire cardstock panel. Once the distress ink was dry, I removed all the masking paper  die cuts. This left me with dog shaped spots on which I stamped the dog image also from the Cute Baby Animals stamp and cut from Hero Arts. I used versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the dog images. Black ink gave me a nice contrast against the blue. I filled in the gaps by stamping the sentiment “you” and the heart shape also from the same stamp set. With the dog images, I was on the fence on whether to colour or nor to colour. I ended up colouring not the entire image but certain bits of it with neutral colours.

You make me happy angled//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the focal point, I die cut three “Happy” from Happy stamp and cut from Hero Arts. I stacked and glued them.  I stamped the smaller sentiment from the same stamp set on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed fish tail ends. I adhered the sentiments on a vellum circle which is framed with a black circular frame. Finally, embellishing with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh brought the card together.

You make me so happy flat//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

A blog Named Hero – Metallic Challenge!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to A Blog Named Hero first challenge of the month.

Make a project with metallic element in it. It can be a full on metallic background or a tiny element on the card. It is up to you. All we ask is to use atleast one Hero Arts product on your project.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Life is beautiful card 1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
For my card, I have used Rain Dance stencil and sponged Gold Delicate pigment ink. While the ink was wet, I rubbed in some Perfect Pearls to add more iridescent metallic look. The picture does not justify how it looks in real. The metallic looks is just so beautiful on white background. I left the background to be the highlight by adding an elegant frame and a coloured sentiment from Hero Arts/Basic Grey Good Day stamp set. I added silver thread and silver metallic sequins to embellish.

Hope you can see the metallic look on the background on the closeup photo below.
