MFT is one of my favourite company. Wish I had all the budget to get everything they release every month 🙂 Anyway, it was hard choice to choose the stamp set to play with for this inspiration challenge. Finally I settled on Deer Friends stamp set to play with.
I stamped and coloured the deers and leaves from the stamp set using PrismaColour pencils. I then hand cut them all. Wish I had the coordinating dies. My eyes went out of focus like crazy trying to cut them out. One of the perks of being in 40s I guess. I will here on get the coordinating dies for sure Lol!

For the background, I used Simon Says Stamp Soft Snowfall die. I die cut using white cardstock and sponged the sky part of the die with Barely Blue Simon Says Stamp ink. Then the bottom part with Laurel Green Simon Says stamp ink. I then put the top and bottom of the die cut together and die cut using MFT’s Wonky Stitched Rectangle die set. I used the largest die in the set. I also die cut another panel using the same wonky stitched die and die cut a slope layer using SSS slopes and Hills die.

You're a deer friend closeup2//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

To assemble the card, I used kraft card base. Adhered the background panel using craft foam, the slope layer using foam adhesives. Then I adhered the deers and the glued the leaves. I added more snow dots on the background using Sakura gelly roll white and sparkle pens. For the sentiment, I black stamped the sentiment from Deer Friends stamp set on a strip of card stock sponged with Merlot SSS ink. In the hindsight I would have white heat embossed the sentiment to make it pop. Finally I embellished the card using PPP Sparkly Clear sequins.

I absolutely LOVE the colour combination. Muted colours yet pretty. I love it. Hope you do too. All the supplies I used to make this card is listed below.

Happy Birthday Pop Up Card!

Hey crafty friends,

Sharing an pop up card using the some new My Favorite Things products

Happy Birthday to you#1
For the card front, I have used a pattern paper from Watercolor Wash Brights paper pad. The panel is die cut using the stitched rectangle die from Blueprint Sketch 29, sponged with Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress ink and die cut using die namics Happy Birthday to You. This panel is adhered using foam adhesives and embellished with Rose Gold sequins.

On the inside, I trimmed a card stock about half an inch smaller than the card front and scored in the middle. I sponged Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress inks. Spattered with clean water and dabbed them to get some texture. Then I used the die namics Pop Up Elements Narrow to die cut three pop up elements.

The images on the pop up elements are from Beary Special Birthday stamp set. I have coloured them with copic markers and die cut using the coordinating die namics.  The sentiments are also from the same stamp set which I have stamped on white card strip and adhered using foam adhesives.  Finally embellished with Rose Gold Sequins.

I am loving the interactive die namics from MFT. So much easier and fun to make interactive cards. All the products I have used on my cards are available at both MFT store as well as Simon Says Stamp Store.

Guest Designing at My Favorite Things Blog – Day #3

This is my second post for the day. My Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge post is HERE!

Hello everyone,

Welcome back! This is the final day of my guest designing at My Favorite Things Blog. I have couple of cards shared at the MFT blog, one of which I am sharing here with you.

I was inspired byKimberly Crawford’s Peek a Boo window card. So I wanted to recreate it with my own twist to it. My twist is: I have added a shaker component to the window!
I started with making the window shaker element for the card. I die cut the die namics Birch Treewith Smooth White cardstock. Sponged Hickory Smoke distress inks to give a bit more realistic birch tree look. I die cut a Wonky Stitched frame using two Wonky Stitched Rectangle die namics and Kraft cardstock. I adhered a clear acetate sheet behind the Wonky Stitched frame then the birch trees die cuts. I also adhered couple of birds stamped, copic coloured die cut from Sweet Forests Friends stamp set. I also created another frame using Stitched Wonky Rectangledie namics and adhered acetate sheet behind it.

On a Kraft card base, I die cut a window on the card front using the second rectangle die namics. I adhered the birch tree panel I created on the card front using foam adhesives. After adding the Woodland Seed Beads, I adhered the second Stitched Wonky Frame panel behind the card front giving the window shaker box. I love this. So cool!

On the inside of the card, I die cut the largest Stitched Wonky rectangle die namics using SmoothWhite cardstock, sponged Faded Jeans and Peacock Feather distress inks on the background. Then I die cut the die namics Stitched Valley using Sour Apple cardstock, sponged Mowed Lawn distress ink and adhered on the bottom of the panel. I also added stamped copic coloured and die cut fox, deer and bunnies images from Sweet Forest Friends stamp set. The Birch Tree die namics also has these cute little leaves dies. I die cut them using Smooth White cardstock, sponged  autumn colours using distress inks and adhered them randomly on the landscape. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Forest Friend Stamp set on the top of this panel using Black LicoriceHybrid ink. For the front, I stamped the sentiment also from Sweet Forest Friend on Smooth White card strip, die cut using one of the dies from dienamics Blueprints 29 and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Rose Gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Life is meant to be enjoyed! Day #2 Guest Designing at MFT

Hello and welcome back! This is my second day of guest designing at My Favorite Things Blog.
I am sharing two more cards at the blog using Pure Innocence stamp sets. Here is one of the cards I shared today.
I started with stamping and copic colouring the images from Pure Innocence Fun in the Sun stamp set. Then I hand cut them out as I don’t have the matching die. If you have the matching die, die cut the images using them. I used one of the flowers from the Sweet ForestFriends stamp set to stamp and add pattern to the girl’s bathers.

For the background, I trimmed two Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of the card front. I sponged Peacock Feather, Evergreen Bough and Blueprint Sketch distress inks on both the watercolour papers.  I spattered clean water on both of them and dabbed the water off with a cloth to get texture on the panels. One panel I adhered on a Smooth White card front. I ran the second panel into my die cut machine using the Oval Shadows die namics.  I adhered these oval shadows randomly to achieve waves, extra dimension as well as texture to the card front. I brushed clear shimmer using Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.
I adhered the images from the Fun inthe Sun stamp set using foam adhesives. The sentiment is simply stamped on a strip of Smooth White cardstock, trimmed fishtail end and adhered. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Cobalt, Aquamarine and Ocean Spray sequins.

Check out MFT Blog for the second card. Hope you like this one.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Hello card//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used  Helena Royal Menagerie Prima Flowers. I love the different pink hues on the flowers and the complementary green coloured leaves. I totally wanted to make a shabby chic layered card. So I rummaged through my pattern paper stash and picked few pattern papers to go with the flowers. I honestly don’t know the brand of the pattern papers. I trimmed one pattern paper to the size of the card front, roughed the edges with the scissors, another pattern paper die cut using MFT’s Wonky Stitched rectangle die, again roughed the edges. I layered glued them. The frame is from Simon Says Stamp called Woodland Rectangular frame die cut using pattern paper. I then added leaves die cuts from green cardstock and Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die. Then clustered and glued the Prima flowers and leaves.

To add more texture and interest, I added pink glitter on the flowers and Woodland Seed Beed from Pretty Pink Posh. I also added liquid pearls and twine bow. The sentiment is Painted Hello from Simon Says Stamp die cut a few in black cardstock. They are stacked and glued before I adhered them on the card. I then glued the finished panel on Simon Says Stamp white card base. Here are some closeups of the card.

I have two cards for your today. For both the cards, I have used Pure Innocence:  Merry Christmas Banner stamp set and coordinating die. On my first I heat embossed the cute image in black and watercoloured in traditional colours.

I used Zig watercolour pens to colour my image and then die cut the image using the coordinating die. For the background, I used MFT’s Sunray stencil  and sponged Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon distress inks. I did not sponge the inks all the way to the end but faded it off towards the end. I then adhered the image using foam adhesives. Embellished with Sparkly Clear and Sunshine Glow iridescent sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a closeup of the cute girl holding the Christmas banner.

For the second cards, I white heat embossed the same girl’s image and watercoloured her using non traditional colours.

Merry Christmas mft card 1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

For the background, I smooshed Salty Ocean and  Peacock Feather distress inks. I love the unpredictable hard and soft edges of the watercolour on the background. Once dry, I adhered the girl image die cut on the background using foam adhesive. Embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is closeup of the card.

I love both by the first card is my favourite. I like the black embossing and the colours of the girl’s dress more than the white embossing. Which one is your favourite?

Runway Inspired Challenge #93

Second post for today. Here is my first post.

Welcome to a new Runway Inspired Challenge – Emilio De La Morena!

source:  style.com

The skirt reminded me of brush strokes stamp set which were hot some time ago. I have a few of them and decided to find them and use it. Here is my take on the challenge.

I picked the colours from the skirt to ink and layer stamp them. I did a white panel and it looked fab! I trimmed the panel at an angle to adhered on the bottom of the card front. I added a black glitter strip of paper as border. Stamped the sentiment at the angle. To tie in with the brush strokes, I added a few spatter in blue and a brush stroke in red on the top of the card front. Finally embellished with sparkly black enamel dots. Here is a closeup!

Runway Inspired Challenge #88

Afternoon everyone!

It is time for new Runway Inspired Challenge #88. Are you ready?

source: style.com

Very typical Missoni outfit. Zigzag/chevron pattern is his trade mark. Intially, I wanted to use chevron stamp set or dies on my card but them I decided to against it. I wanted to use the colours from the outfit and a pattern on the background instead. Here is my take on the challenge.

For the background, I die cut this fishnet pattern using MFT’s Fishnet Cover plate die. I then randomly trimmed off the edges as I wanted an uneven background. I adhered this on the white card base by applying glue to only a few places at the centre of the die cut. I wanted the edges to be raised.

Next, I stamped and copic coloured the flowers from  Magnolias for Her stamp set from Altenew. I picked the colours from Missoni’s outfit. I like blending different colours. A bit difficult but super fun. Then cut out the flowers by hand. I clustered the flowers and bud and adhered using glue on the bottom of the flowers and foam on the top to give the raised effect. The sentiment is from  Birthday Greetings stamps et also from Altenew. To bring the card together, I used doodlebug’s yellow and pink sprinkles dots. Here is a closeup photo.

Shaker card!

Afternoon everyone,
I am sharing a shaker card today with you using Taylored Expressions stamp set.
Shaker card
I have been seeing a lot of sea creatures, fishes and water based cards all over the place. They all look gorgeous especially with watercolour technique used to create a scene. I jumped into the band wagon and created a shaker card using Taylored Expressions Under the Sea stamp set.
I used watercolour card stock upon which I stamped all the images from the stamp set using black Versafine ink. The images are heat embossed so I can watercolour them. Zig pens come handy to quickly watercolour especially the tiny nooks and corners. I used zig pens to watercolour the background too. Of course, I could have used masking fluid or rubber cement to mask off the images and watercolour the background. But I did not have the time nor patience for it. And Zig pens make it easy to acces the tiny nooks anyway. So I went ahead and coloured the entire background using three different hues of blue. One the bubbles, I added some glossy accent for add dimension.
The frame is die cut using MFT dies. The sequins inside the shaker card is from Pretty Pink Posh. They are Corn Flower blue, Winter Mix without the snow sequins, Cobalt, Sparkly Clear, Silver, Sparkly Clear seed beads and Silver Shimmer seed beads.
Shaker card closeup
There is a little boy who is celebrating his 5th birthday next week. He loves fishies and desperately wants an aquarium. His parents at the moment cannot handle having an aquarium at home as another baby is on the way and they have a dog as well. So this card is his aquarium with his favourite fish – The Shark in it 🙂 I showed his mum and she is  very sure her son is going to LOVE the card. Cannot wait to see his face when I give him the card 🙂
BTW: Last night, my friend LOVED house warming card and everyone loved my carrot halwa. It was a pleasure to see everyone enjoying it.

Tag You’re It Challenge #19

It is time for another Tag You’re it Challenge.
This time we have a gorgeous tag by Jeanne Jachna as inspiration.
I love the layout of the tag The patterned background, the die cuts and wider sentiment panel.
So here is my take on the tag.
Tag 1
I have used one of the tag from MFT Stitched Stax Tag die namics as my tag. I sponged Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distress ink then Vintage Photo on the edges. I have used Blips background stamp from Penny Black on my background. I cut a strip of vellum with fish tail end and adhered to the tag.
Tag flat
The die cut is also from Penny Black. It is called Lively. I sponged some Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserve distress ink on a white cardstock. Then die cut the Lively die from Penny Black. I then sponged some Chipped Sapphire distress ink on the edges. Once dry, I brushed some clear Wink of Stella shimmer. LOVE the shimmer on the leaves.
Tag closeup
I adhered this leaf die cut on the tag using foam adhesives.  Then stamped the sentiment from Pretty Petal stamp set also from Penny Black on a piece of cardstock sponged with Salty Ocean distress ink. I layered this piece with another piece of cardstock sponged with Dusty Concord distress ink before I adhered on the tag. Finally embellished with some gorgeous Orchid, Pansy Purple and Amethyst sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
Come and play along Tag You’re It Challenge with me!
