Mother's Day card #1
Instructions:

1. I stamped the image and the sentiment framing the image on a white cardstock panel. Then I coloured the image using copic markers.

2. I used Sakura white gel pen to add highlights to the coloured image.

3. I applied the image completely with masking fluid and let it dry.

4. I masked the edges of the panel about half an inch using masking tape and sponged distress inks – Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold.

5. I removed the masking tape and the rubbed the masking fluid off the image to reveal the beautiful background.

6. I sprinkled some clean water and dabbed it off with a clean cloth. This added texture the background.

7. I trimmed the panel about an inch and quarter and adhered the panel to the white card base using foam adhesives.

8. I added some white iridescent sequins to embellish the card.

Here are couple of closeups of the card.

This is my take on the challenge.

You're in my thoughts2

I have used Penny Black Flower Cascade stamp set as my focal point. I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Versafine Black ink. Once the ink is dried, I loosely watercoloured the image using Zig clean clolor brush pens. I also watercoloured the background using grey watercolor pen. I wanted to add texture to the background as otherwise it looked very bland! To add texture, I randomly stamped Simon Says Stamp Leaves background stamp using Fog dye ink. Then used Hickory Smoke distress ink to sponge the edges lightly. The sentiment is from Special Thoughts stamp set also from Penny Black. Finally embellished with Novo white Blizzard drops.

Its a birthday card!

Hello everyone,
I have a birthday card to share using Penny Black dies and no stamping involved.
15th birthday card
I have used two Penny Black dies called Your Day and Numbers.

Started with smooshing distress inks Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron for the first layer of colour wash. Then I added couple of layers of Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seeds to add texture, layers and saturation to the colours. I left the panel to dry. By the way, I have used watercolor paper as my panel. Once the panel is dry, I embossed the Your Day die to wards the bottom of the panel. Then I embossed the “15th” above the happy birthday to the right. I love the embossing so I randomly embossed the “15” all over the paper. I adhered the panel on the card base.
Although I loved the embossed look of the dies, I felt that the sentiment got lost in all the layered colours of the background. To make the sentiment stand out, I die cut the Your Day die and “15th” out of white cardstock and adhered over the main embossed image. Now the main sentiment pops out of the background. I left the rest of the embossed images as it for added interest. To add contrast, I embellished with Onyx sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hope you like my card. I gave this card to my daughter yesterday for her birthday! She loved it.

Watercoloured Florals!

Oh Hello everyone, I have a floral card to share with your today. My Sunday is cold, windy with hailstorms. The best thing to do was to watercolour a beautiful image. I love another of the new cling background stamp called Sweet Perfume. It is a beautiful cluster of flowers and leaves. Perfect image to watercolour. Here is the background cling stamp called Sweet Perfume from Penny Black.
I white heat embossed this image on watercoloured paper and coloured the image with Zig clean Brush watercolour pens.
At first, I laid a very light colour wash on the all of the images. While the paper is damp, I added shading with the darker shades of colour and blended the colour using aqua brush. It took me about an hour and half to finish watercolour with breaks in between. I then coloured the background with blue. Here are some closeups.

I then trimmed the panel to 4″x5″. I added the black and white stripped pattern paper from Beau Jardins paper pack also from Penny Black on the bottom of the card base. I then added a strip of black cardstock on the bottom of the floral panel and adhered the panel on the card front using foam adhesive. The sentiment from Happy Notes stamp set is white heat embossed on black cardstock and adhered on the card front. Embellished with rose gold sequins.

A Birthday Card!

Hello everyone,
Surprise! I am posting more than one post per week! I know I have been busy and not been able to post more than one post on my blog. Life has slowed down a bit this week and so I thought I will make a post today. But next week I have more to share.
I have a card using new release stamp set from Penny Black to share with you today.
Birthday card #1
I love this new cling stamp set called Flower Cascade. So pretty and I straight away wanted to colour the image. So I stamped on white card panel and coloured the image with copic markers. This is my new favourite colour combination. Ink Blue, light green and yellow with neutral. I also brushed sparkle on the flowers.

Birthday card closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I stamped the sentiment from Special Thoughts stamp set. Then trimmed the panel to 4″x 5.50″ and adhered on an ink blue card base. I finished the card with clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is what happened. The clear droplet did not dry and it moved when I took the photo. I didn’t realise until I was blogging. So I will leave it as it. Things like this happens especially when one is in hurry!

Hope you like my card. All the new release from Penny Black are available for purchase from Penny Black Store.

Gift card pockets!

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I have couple of gift card pockets to share with you today. These are made using Penny Black Gift Card Pocket die set and Buddy and Duck stamp set.
Here are the die and stamp set for you

buddy & duck picturegift card pocket picture

I love the gift card pocket die set. The set not only had the die to die cut the gift card pocket but also all the decorating elements in it. One does not need a stamp set to decorate the pocket at all. You will need just the sentiment and probably inks to sponge on the element and assemble or just die cut them using pattern papers. Alternatively this pocket can be added inside regular card and just tuck in the gift card in the slits. Options are endless. Here is my first gift card pocket.

I die cut the gift card pocket using the grey striped pattern paper from Beau Jardin paper pad. The die actually scores your folds. So that was pretty easy to assemble. The scallop panel on the top is also from the Gift Card die set die cut using white cardstock. I stamped the image from Buddy and Duck stamp set and copic coloured the image. The sentiment also from the same stamp set is stamped on a white die cut also from Gift Card Pocket die set. Embellished with enamel dots. Simple and easy to make.

Happy Birthday Duckie pocket

For the second pocket, I used another pattern paper from Beau Jardin paper pad. Another image from Buddy and Duck stamp set on the white scallop panel. Otherwise everything is all the same as the previous pocket. Here are both of them together.

Happy Birthday gift card Pockets//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Inside the pocket, I die cut another scallop panel and adhered. This panel is used to write down your personal message.
I slipped in my gift card on top of the panel. So when the person opens, the pocket, they see the gift card first, then when they remove the gift card, there is the personal message.

Hope you like these adorable gift card pockets suing Penny Black die set and stamp. Please ignore the marks on the board on the background. I know it can be distracting. I had this board just for craft but looks like somebody at home has used it for its original purpose without my knowledge! I will need to buy another one for craft exclusive now and hide it!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a lovely day!

You are so Special!

Hello everyone, I have a special and cute card to share with you today. This card is made using Penny Black stamp sets. And I have watercoloured embossed images on this card. This is one technique I enjoy a lot. Makes me calm and relaxed watercolouring. Anyway, here is my card.
You are so special flat #2
I have used three stamp sets from Penny Black to make this card. The girl image is called XOXO. Love this little girls image. Adorable. I combined this set with Penny Black All Bloom stamp set for the greenery around the girl. Finally the sentiment is from Special Thoughts stamp set.

Yo make this card, I black heat embossed the images on to watercolour paper. Then I coloured the images with Zig Clean Brush markers. These pens are my favourite to watercolour as I feel I have better control colouring with these pens. I also use an aqua brush to get waterdown and add shading to the colouring.. I grounded the images by added land to the bottom of the images and watercoloured the background with blue colour. To make the images pop, I added some grey shading to them.

You are so special closeup #1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Finally, I added shimmer to the girl’s skirt, butterflies, flowers and leaves using Wink of Stella clear shimmer pens. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered using foam adhesive. The watercoloured panel is trimmed to about one third of an inch smaller to the size of the card front and adhered to the kraft base using foam adhesives. I embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins and twine bow on the top.

Hope you like my watercoloured special card as much as I do. All the products are available to purchase from Penny Black Store.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a lovely Monday!

Special friends card #2

I die cut a frame out of the water coloured panel, popped up the frame and inlaid the inner panel. The background pattern paper is from Beau Jardins pattern paper 6×6 paper pad. Finally embellished with sequins. Here are the closeups.

Specila friends card #2 closeup

I have coloured both the images using Zig Clean Brush pens. I use these pens to colour intricate and detailed images. I feel I have better control with these pens. I add a bit of colour on the shading areas and then use aqua pens to pull the colour and fade out. I also added glossy accents on the ears, tails, hearts and flowers for extra dimension. Then I also added some shimmer using Wink of Stella.

Sending Hugs & Kisses! A Penny Black card!

Hello everyone,
I am so thrilled to find time to craft today. This precious craft time was so hard to get for past month and a half. Life threw a curve ball at me. So many unexpected things piled up and sorting them out took all the time. No time or energy to craft. Now most of stuff is sorted and settled. There is a routine to the madness now. So relieved Yay!
I am sharing a card today with you which is totally out of my comfort zone. This style is not my style, however this was my style when I did scrapbooking layouts. Although I was nerves doing this card, it was not hard once I got started. Here is the card for you.
There are a lot of dies from Penny Black using on this card. The background is also created using Penny Black cling stamp set called Brick Wall. I white heat embossed the stamp set and watercoloured with brown watercolours. Over this background, I layered with a black Half Circle die cut also from Penny Black. I adhered this die cut at an angle for added interest. Then I layered with lots of leaves die cut using Penny Black Leaves dies. On top of these leaves, I layered three flowers and leaves die cut using Penny Black Layered Flowers. At this stage, I added purple and green glitter using Multi Medium Matt. Finally, I added some flowers from Prima Marketing, a twine bow and lots and lots of Silver Shimmer Seed Beads from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Penny Black Special Thoughts stamp set.

Sending Hugs and Kisses//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

There is a lot of layering on this card. I love how it turned out. So pretty. I still want to learn how to work the randomness of the glitter or microbeads. Normally it is microbeads that are used to add texture to the flowers. I don’t have any and hence my alternative was Seed Beads. It worked too. Here is a closeup of the card.
