Merry Christmas card!

Hey everyone,

I played with Simon Says Stamp Believe in The Season release stamp set called Winter Flowers and coordinating dies. I LOVE this style of illustration. The images look pretty and delicate. I have used the new release inks to make this card.

I stamped the images on white cardstock. Then used the inks Merlot, Barely Blue, Evergreen along with older ink Willow to sponge on the images. I used Merlot on the poinsettia and the others on the leaves and foliage. Then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. On a white card base, I spattered some Finetec Gold Mica watercolour. Then clustered and glued the die cuts as shown. Some of the foliage is glued flush and some are using foam adhesives with the poinsettia adhered using foam for dimension. I brush Wink of Stella liberally all over the die cuts.

Sentiment is die cut using SSS Merry Christmas dies. I die cut three of them using white cardstock, stacked and glued them. I then sponged gold ink on the top layer of the sentiment die cut and adhered on the card front. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins.

Simon Says Totally Resistible!

Love resist techniques and I did simple resist technique on the background of my card.

I used Simon Says Stamp background called Abstract Triangles to stamp and white heat emboss on watercolour paper. Then I sponged distress inks Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed at the centre of the paper and Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch on the outer edge of the paper. The colour brought out the embossed triangles beautifully. I then added clean water to add texture to the background.

For the focal point, I used Winter Silhouette stamp set from Impression Obsession to black heat emboss on a stitched circle white panel. I mounted this focal image on the background using foam adhesive. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered below the focal panel. I then embellished the card with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins.

Simon Says Gift It!

I have used Clearly Besotted stamp set to dress up an envelope gift card holder.

The stamp I used from Clearly Besotted is called Sweet Treats. Love this stamp set. Absolutely adorable images. I simply stamped the cupcake image randomly on a watercolour panel filling in with the speech bubble sentiment also from the stamp set.  I coloured them using Zig clean brush watercolour pens. I then used one of the stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp to die cut two panels. I also used the same die to cut another panel out of white cardstock. Then I took an black colour envelope, folded in half. Cut the flap in half and adhered the flap on the left side of the envelope in place. I adhered the stamped and watercoloured panel on the front and back of the folded envelope using foam adhesives.

I adhered the plain white panel on the inside of the folded envelope where the flap is adhered. This panel is adhered flush so one can write on it. The other side has the pocket to hold the gift card.

On the front of the card, I added a layer of vellum die cut using stitched rectangle die, The sentiment is stamped on a strip of white card stock. I also stamped the cupcake image from the stamp set on watercolour paper, coloured with Zig pens and cut it out with scissors. I adhered this on the vellum layer. I embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a collage of the gift card holder front, back and inside.

Hope you had/have a wonderful weekend! I managed to make a card over the weekend using new STAMPtember® release from Simon Says Stamp.

I have used Birch Tree Window and Grateful die from the STAMPtember® release along with older die from Simon Says Stamp called Songbird Branch die to make this card.

I die cut a small stitched panel using cream cardstock and Stitched Rectangle die set. Then I die cut the Birch Tree Window in the centre of the panel. I added acetate behind the panel. For the background, I sponged Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peeled Paint distress ink on watercolour paper. Then I spattered some water, dabbed the water and when dry, sponged some more of the inks. I repeated this process couple of times to build layers. I really wanted the bright ink blue on the background.

I also sponged some autumn colour distress inks – Wild Honey, Craved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon and Crushed Olive distress inks on watercolour paper. Spattered with water and dabbed the excess out. Once dry, I used the leaves die from Songbird Branch die set to die cut several leaves from all these colours. I added these leaves on the blue sponged background panel and adhered the Brich Tree Window panel using foam adhesive to create a shaker element.

I adhered this shaker panel on a stitched rectangle kraft panel which is adhered to the kraft cardbase. For the focal point, I die cut the bird from Songbird Branch die and sponged with distress inks Ricked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon. I also sponged a cream scrap cardstock with Espresso Distress ink and die cut the sentiment Grateful. I also die cut the outline of the sentiment using kraft cardstock. I adhered the sentiment on the outline die cut to foam adhered the entire sentiment to the card front. The bird, I adhered using foam as shown. Finally embellished with Espresso sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Sprinkling some happy!

Hey everyone,

Sharing a card I made using one of the new stamp set from STAMPtember® release from Simon Says Stamp.

I have used the fairy image from Secret Garden stamp set on my card.

I stamped the fairy image and butterflies, masked and sponged distress inks Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch. I then spattered some clean water, dabbed them and then sprayed clear shimmer. I also white heat embossed some star constellation from Seeing Stars stamp set. I die cut this panel using the largest stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle die set.

I removed the masks and copic coloured the images. Then I added a large silver star on the wand of the fairy with a small sequins in the middle. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Secret Garden stamp set on a strip of black cardstock and adhered with foam adhesives. The entire panel is adhered on a Fog card base. and embellished with Sparkly Clear sequins. I also brushed some shimmer on the fairy image.

Love the yellow glow around the fairy and butterflies.  Love how the card turned out. As always here are all the supplies I used to make this card.

I have made a watercolour card using an colour combination which is outside the box for me.

I stamped the images from Avery Elle Canopy stamp set on to watercolour paper using MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Then I coloured the images with Zig clean brush markers. The colour combination was inspired by this picture from Pinterest.

I kept it soft and muted. That is unusual for me. I am brights girl but I do LOVE the muted look. I added some glossy accent to the centre of the flowers for added dimension. I also coloured the background with a warm grey.

And not many card of mine escapes from my sequins collection. I have added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkly Clear sequins to complete the card. I adhered the panel on to a baby pink card base with a bit of pink peeking on top and bottom of the panel.

I have taken this challenge in the literal sense and made a square card. My card is 5″x5″.

I die cut masking paper using a square die and masked the centre of the card with the masking paper die cut to the centre of the card. Then I used MISTI to stamp layers of tropical leaves from Tropical Leaves stamp set. I have double stamped many of the leaves to get even coverage. I have used Simon Says Stamp Lucky, Jelly Bean, Willow, Malibu Blue, Melon, Sunshine and Hot Lips inks and Delicata Gold Pigment ink. Then I removed the masking paper. There was a bit of bleeding as I had double stamped and also stamped layers. Masking paper do not hold that much of ink from stamping. To fix the bleeding, I used my black fineliner and drew the border inside. This added a nice frame and contrast.

I stamped the greeting from Big Scripty Greetings in the centre using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink.  I felt the card needed a bit of dimension. So I stamped and die cut images from Tropical Leaves images and clustered adhered them diagonally opposite to the sentiment.

Simon Says Fabulous Florals

I have couple of cards for this challenge.

I have used the Bold Daisy stencil from Hero Arts to make my background. I was watching TV and sponged some distress ink colours in random combination on a few white card panels. Then I choose couple of panel that I liked to make my card. Rainbow colours are always my favourite. I trimmed the panel smaller than the card front, spattered water to get texture on the card and adhered the panel to the fog card front.

The beautiful rainbow bold daisy is the highlight of the card. So my sentiment will be bold with high contrast and it will be my focal point. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Painted Birthday die. I die cut three out of black card stock and layered glued them for added dimension.  I adhered the sentiment die cut on the top centre of the card front and embellished with rose gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

For my second card, I simply loved the colour combination of distress inks I sponged on the stencil. I have used Blueprint Sketch, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

The yellow ink at the centre of the panel gives a glow behind the bold contrasting sentiment die cut. Everything else is the same as the previous card except for the colour combination and the orientation of the card. Hope you like both my cards. I did not like the colour combination of the two other panels I sponged. I am not giving up on them but will try and reinvent them to make cards.

Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge!

I LOVE Lawn Fawn stamp sets and particularly this set called Loads of Fun. I adore the washing machine image and the accessories, let alone the sentiments. I was waiting to get my hands on it and make a shaker card.

So I started with stamping all the images from the stamp set and coloured them using copic markers. Then I fuzzy cut them out with scissors. The images are basic in shape and so easy to cut them out. I think dies are available is you are someone who love to have matching dies for stamp sets. I then used a circle die and cut the centre of the washing machine to make a shaker card. I filled the shaker with the copic coloured clothing images I fuzzy cut. I LOVE the washing machine now 🙂 So adorable don’t you think?

For the background, I masked the bottom of the card front using masking tape, then sponged Spun Sugar and Adandoned Coral distress ink on top of Simon Says Stamp Trellis Grate stencil. Then I removed the mask and masked the stenciled area to sponged Gathered Twigs distress ink. I wanted wallpaper and floor background. I pretty much achieved it I think!  

I adhered the washing machine, basket and other elements using foam adhesives for dimension. I stamped one half of the sentiment directly on the bottom of the card and the other on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed and adhered. Finally embellished with Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

SSS Blooming Day!

Hello craft friends,

I have been playing with some of the new stamp set and dies from Simon Says Stamp Among the Stars collection. Two days ago I played with the Tropical Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies. Yesterday, I played with Blooming Day stamp set. Love the stylised floral and foliage in this set especially the highlights on them. I made one card using faux watercolouring technique to create the background. And the second card I simply stamped the images in cluster to show how beautiful the images are as is.

For this card, I stamped the images using distress inks on watercolour cardstock, then used the water brush to even out the colour and get watercolour look. I felt the images has no shades and depth to them. So I used a darker shade of the same colours from Zig Clean Brush watercolour pens and added shading to the images. Then I added some shadow using grey Zig pen. I lost highlights on the small flowers and so used white gel pen to add them. The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons stamp set, is white heat embossed on black cardstock and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

For my second card, I simply stamped the images from the stamp set in a cluster.

I picked a pretty colour combination from Simon Says Stamp inks to stamp my images. I used Melon, Hollyhock and Willow inks from Simon Says Stamp. Stamped the images using MISTI on the top left corner of the panel. The sentiment is from Big Scripty Greetings also from Simon Says Stamp stamped in Delicata Black Shimmer ink.

Since there was not enough black elements on the card, I trimmed off quarter of an inch form the panel, added a strip of gold glitter and a black and white diagonal striped pattern paper. Finally embellished with gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hope you like them both. I love this stamp set. One of my favorite from Among the Stars release by Simon Says Stamp.
