As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.

There are all the colours of the rainbow on my card along with a bit of green. I followed the challenge title to the T!  Taylored Expressions dies are one of my favourite. They are unique and you can combine their dies to create a scene as they all coordinate well with each other. That is what I have done with my card.
I have used On the Line Beach die set along with Little Bits Adirondack Chair, Little Bits: Sun and Clouds and Skinny Mini Borders Spring dies to create my scene. And to add colours to my elements, I have used the new Distress Oxide inks.

For my background, I sponged Fossilzed Amber, Broken China and Faded Jeans distress oxide inks,  added water spatter and heat set to get that chalky look to the oxide. On an another bristol paper, I sponged Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo distress oxide inks, spattered with water, heat set before using the On the line Beach die to die cut the palm trees. I also die cut four of the stitched detail leaves of the palm tree which I layered one behind and one on top of the base trees. I adhered this on the background using foam adhesives.

I similarly repeated the process of distress inks to die cut all the other elements for the card. Only the clouds don’t have any colour on them. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Pool Play stamp set stamped using black ink and MISTI. Finally the card is embellished with Snow Flurries sequins.

Here are couple of closeups photos of the card.

Hip Hip Meh…..

Hey everyone,
A  quick post sharing a Grouchy Grumpling card using the new Grouchy Grumplings 2 stamp set from Taylored Expressions.

I coloured the hippo from Grouchy Grumplings 2 stamp set using copic markers and die cut the image using the coordinating die. For the background I sponged the background stitched rectangle panel with distress inks Ripe Persimmon, Fossilized Amber and Candied Apple. I stamped the star background from Matchy Backgrounds stamp set using Candied Apple distress ink. The image is adhered using foam adhesive on the left side of the panel. One sentiment is heat embossed on Poppy Seed strip of cardstock and the second sentiment is black heat embossed below the focal panel. The card is embellished with Oreo enamel shapes from Taylored Expressions. Here is  a closeup of the card.

It’s the release day!

Hey everyone, Its the day you have been waiting for. It is the release day at Taylored Expressions. All the new products we have been sharing in the sneak peeks for past three days are now available for purchase at Taylored Expressions Store.
I have couple of products to share today. The first one uses Sitting Pretty dies and Sitting Pretty Accessories dies
GAYATRISittingPretty1THURS//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I chose a neutral colour combination for my card. I picked Buttercream Frosting, Toffee and Gold mirror cardstocks.  I die cut Sitting Pretty, Sitting Pretty Accessories, By the Fireside and Southwest Cutting plate along with one of the frames from Frame in a Frame die set using all the three cardstocks. So I had a variety of colours of die cut so I have enough to cluster the elements. To give the vintage feel, I sponged some Toffee ink on the cream and kraft die cuts and on the edges of the cardbase. Only the foliage is die cut using Granny Smith cardstock. I made a art frame piece on top of the mantle using Southwest cutting plate die cut out behind the gold frame, trimmed the edges and backed with a piece of kraft cardstock. I love that frame. So unique and beautiful it turned out. To embellish, I used white sequins from Snow Flurries sequins collection. Here are some closeups of the card.

Absolutely love how this card turned out. Lots of time and love went into make this card. All the supplies used to make this card are listed below.

Secondly I have couple of matchboxes to share.

GAYATRImatchboxesWED//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used the matchbox die to make these two cuties. I used pattern paper from Build a Scene pattern paper pack to die cut the cover of the matchbox. I used the scalloped die and rectangle die to die cut a window on both the cover. I added acetate sheet on the back before I assembled the cover. For the base I used Sugar Cube cardstock. To decorate the matchboxes, I used images and sentiments from Matchy Matchy stamp set and coordinating dies. I have put in a cute pair of earrings inside one of the matchbox just to show these are perfect to put in jewellery to gift teenagers. How cute is that? My daughter took all the matchboxes I made and gave them away to her friends with little gifts like bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings inside them. They were not even for an occasion! The girls loved them so much. I had to diecut a few more pieces for them to assemble for themselves. Anyway, here are some more photos of the cute matchboxes.

Home Sweet Home!

Welcome Back! This is my third post for today. Here is my first post and second post.
Today is day #3 of Taylored Expressions March release sneak peek. View day #1 and day #2 sneak peek posts if you like to see them.
I have two products to showcase. Today is a special day because both are 3D products. You will love them both and a must have to have in anyone’s collections. The first product I am showcasing today is called Home Sweet Home.
When I saw this die, I was so thrilled. I am building my own Home Sweet Home and putting together this die and making my project was as exciting as planning and building my own home. Here is a picture of my own home being built. It is about half way through.
And here are couple of my projects using Home Sweet Home die.

GAYATRIHomesweethomeWED12//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I used woodgrain cardstock to make my house. I die cut the elements then sponged Weathered Wood distress ink followed by Picket Fence distress paint and left it to dry. Then assembled the elements to make the house. I then added the windows, doors and shutters from Home Sweet Home Accessories using Poppy Seed cardstock. I added vellum behind the windows.
//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
I placed the house on two rectangular coasters glued together and painted with Picket Fence distress paint. As a fence and background for the house, I used In the Garden die from Taylored Expressions die cut using Poppy Seed cardstock. Around the house, I brushed some gel medium and added artificial moss.  The house can be picked up to put a battery operated tea light and put back making the house glow.

GAYATRIhomesweethomeWEDcloseup1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

GAYATRIHomesweethomeangledWED//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I did a similar process but used Gathered Twigs distress inks along with Chocolate Truffle and Peapod cardstocks from TE to make another model.

GAYATRIhomesweethomeWED21//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The artificial moss has autumn colours. Similarly, battery operated tealight can be put inside the house. Here are some closeups of the card.

GAYATRIhomesweethomeWEDcloseup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

GAYATRIhomesweethomeWED2//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Absolutely adore this die and the accessories gives the house the details. I have not showcased all the accessories. There are window boxes, flowers, grass and curtains to help jazz up the house.  All the supplies using to make both the houses are listed below.

Card Supplies:

The second product I am showcasing today is a die called Matchbox. Yes, this is a cute match box die.

The best part of this Matchbox die is the scalloped and rectangle die which can be used to add layers on top or inside of the box or die cut to make a window. I have combined this die with Matchy Matchy stamp set to make my project.

GAYATRImatchbox1THURS//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I have used pattern papers from Hello Happiness pattern paper pack to die cut the Matchbox die and make the matchboxes. Then I die cut the scalloped rectangle using another pattern paper from the same pack and layered on top of the matchbox using foam adhesive. To decorate the matchbox, I stamped the bird and hat from the new Matchy Matchy stamp set, copic coloured them, die cut using the coordinating dies. I picked colours to colour the image from the pattern paper. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on the wings of the bird using Oreo hybrid ink. I adhered the the bird along with the hat on top of the match box.

GAYATRImatchboxTHURS//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

The box is so cute that you can put jewellery inside with personal note on a piece of paper to put with it to personalise the match box to your occasional. Hope you like it. All the supplies used to make this project is listed below.

There is no place like home! TE March Release Day #2!

Hello everyone,
Welcome to Day #2 of Taylored Expressions March release sneak peek! Day #1 sneak peek is HERE if you like to view the post. Today I am showcasing two more new products from the March release. The first product I am showcasing is a stamp set called There’s No Place Like Home.
This is a beautiful stamp set and coordinates well with couple of Little Bits dies new release as well. I have paired the stamp set with Little Bits – House die to make my project.
I white heat embossed the border image from There’s No Place Like Home stamp set on the bottom of a watercolour paper panel. I then sponged distress inks in rainbow colours on the background and the border embossed image pops out of the colourful background.
The sentiment is white heat embossed on Oreo cardstock, trimmed and adhered on the panel. To highlight the new house, I die cut the Little Bits- House die in gold mirror cardstock and Oreo cardstock and adhered on the heat embossed border covering two of the embossed houses. Then embellished with sequins from Snow Flurries collection.

The second new product I am showcasing today is another stamp set called Grouchy Grumplings 2. Yes, another stamp set and coordinating dies to the Grumplings series. I love it.

I love that bird in the stamp set. So adorable with the grumpy face. I used the bird and sentiment to make my card.

GAYATRIGrouchyGrumplings2TUE//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

I used the clouds pattern paper from Build a Scene pattern paper pack on the background. Then die cut a Sugar Cube cardstock using the largest stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklet. then used three stitched rectangle die to die cut three circle out of the panel. I sponged various TE dye inks on the stitched circles, black heat embossed the sentiment on two of them.
I adhered the rectangle negative panel on the card front using foam adhesives and inlaid the sponged circle dies back in place using liquid glue. I stamped, copic coloured and die cut the bird from Grouchy Grumplings 2 and adhered on the empty circle. The card is embellished using TE enamel shapes.

Take Life One Load at a Time! TE March Release Day #1

Hello everyone,
Welcome to Taylored Expressions March Release Sneak Peek. Today is day #1
I have two new projects to share showcasing two new products. My first card showcases new die called Spin Cycle and Spin Cycle Sentiments along with Little Bits: Laundry Basket and Little Bits Clothing Confetti dies.
This is a great set to have in your collection. I particularly love the sentiments on the stamp set.
GAYATRISpincycle1MON
I used the Spin Cycle dies to create my washing machine which has shaker element with Little Bits Clothing Confetti in it. I also used the Little Bits Laundry Basket on top of the washing machine with Little Bits Clothing Confetti in the basket.

For the background I used the new embossing folder Subway Tiles and sponged Cookie Monster TE dye ink. The sentiment is stamped below the embossed background. The panel is die cut using stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklet. Here is the closeup of the card.

GAYATRIspingcyclecloseupMON

Here are the list of supplies I used to make this card.

The second product I am showcasing is called Sitting Pretty. I am combining the Sitting Pretty die set with Sitting Pretty Accessories and an older die called By the Fireside.

These dies create beautiful scenes on its own or combine with some of the build a scene dies from Taylored Expressions to create one. I have used By the Fireside die to create a gorgeous mantle decor scene.

GAYATRISittingprettyMON

I used Poppy Seed, Cookie Monster, Candy Corn, Granny Smith, Sugar Cube TE cardstocks along with gold mirror cardstock to die cut the elements. I clustered the elements into a group of three and adhered on the ledge. I did the same at the bottom of the fireplace. I then die cut a banner from Skinny Mini Party Border dies to add a banner to the fireplace and a few sequins from Snow Flurries collection.

I had so much fun die cutting and creating this scene. I absolutely adore this card. I did not add any sentiment as I wanted the mantle decor to the highlight of the card. I will personalise and added sentiment when I decide to send this card. Here are some closeup of the card.

Have a Magical Day – Tutorial!

Happy Sunday everyone! I have a card tutorial to share today. This card is made using Taylored Expressions stamp set called Magical Days stamp and die combo. I made this card for the release in the month of Janurary 2017.
I received a request for a tutorial for this card. Sorry it took me so long to make it. It is here now. I decided to use the same process but change a little to make another card. I changed the colour, less details, less embellishments and slightly bigger panels. Here is the new card.

Magical day card1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Instructions:
1. I stamped and coloured the dragons from Magical Days stamp and die combo using copic markers. I used R20, R21, R22, YG01, YG21, YG17, YG23 and YG25.
2. For the background, I sponged distress inks – Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint. I loooove the colours together. One of my favourite colour combo.
3. I stamped the Cloud Nine background stamp on the sponged panel using Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube white pigment ink.
4. I die cut this panel using the third largest stitched rectangle die and another white panel using the largest stitched rectangle die from Stitched Rectangle Stacklets.
5. I die cut the dragons using the coordinating dies and white heat embossed the sentiment on Oreo cardstock which I then die cut using the smallest banner die from Banner Stacklets 4.
6. To assemble the card, I adhered the sponged panel on the white panel using foam adhesive, the dragons on the sponged panel using foam adhesives as well.
7. The completed panel on the Sugar Cube card base flush and sentiment flush on the sponged panel.

8. I did not add enamel dots on this card. You can add Taylored Expressions Oreo enamel shapes is you wish.

I am showcasing some more new products today. First up is Spring Grumplings stamp set and dies.
I love the grumplings series. If you already don’t know, Taylored Expressions has this Grumplings series of stamp set and dies which are just fantastic with hilarious sentiment. They are my favourite series. Check them out. The Spring Grumplings are no better. I love playing with these grumplings. Makes me so happy. I combined Spring Grumplings stamp set with the new Spring Florals stamp set and coordinating dies to make my card.
Instructions:
1. Card base is made of Granny Smith cardstock and stamped on with foliage and dots stamps from Spring Floral stamp set and Granny Smith TE dye ink.
2. I then die cut a round card base using the largest stitched circle die and Lavender Glaze cardstock. I adhered this on the centre of the card front.
3. I stamped the Spring Grumpling image on watercolour paper using Oreo Hybrid ink and coloured with Zig Clean Brush Pens. Then die cut the image out using the coordinating die.
4. I stamped the wreath, foliage and flowers from Spring Florals stamp set using Granny Smith, Sprinkles, Strawberry Milkshake and Lemon Meringue TE dye inks. Then die cut them all out using the coordinating dies.
5. The sentiment from Spring Grumplings stamp set is white heat embossed on a strip of Oreo cardstock and trimmed with fishtail ends.
6. I adhered the wreath on the stitched circle card front using foam adhesives, then the grumpling image on the top left of the wreath with the flower and leave cluster on the bottom right of the wreath. I tucked in the sentiment below the grumpling image.

The second project I am showcasing today is an embossing folder called Redeemer.

I love this embossing folder and perfect to create stained glass effect. I combined this embossing folder with the new My Redeemer Lives stamp set, coordinating dies, Prayers Script die and You’re in My Prayers stamp set to make my card.

Instructions:

1. My card base is Sugar Cube cardstock.

2. I used an acetate sheet and a few copic refills in blues and greens to create a stained glass like background. The colours are really bright and bold.
3. I die cut a frame using the largest frame die from Stitched Frame Stacklet and gold mirror cardstock.
4. I embossed vellum using the Redeemer embossing folder.

6. For the focal point, I gold heat embossed the cross from My Redeemer Lives stamp set and die cut using the coordinating die. I adhered this die on the centre of the vellum panel.
7. For the sentiment, I die cut Prayers Script die using gold mirror cardstock and gold heat embossed the smaller sentiment on a strip of white cardstock from the You’re in My Prayers stamp set. Both are adhered over the cross as shown.
8. The entire panel is adhered on to the card front using foam adhesives and embellished with gold sequins.

You are Egg – ceptional!

Welcome back. This is my second post for today. Here is my SSS challenge post.
Today is the day #3 of Taylored Expressions February release. Click here for Day #1 and Day #2 posts.
I am sharing couple of projects using three new products. The first one is a stamp set and a coordinating die called Peek A Boo Easter.

How cute are those critters on the stamp set. I combined this stamp and die set with an older die called Peek A Boo circle to make my card.

Instructions:
1. Card base is made of Sugar Cube card stock.
2. I trimmed another Sugar Cube cardstock panel to the size of the card front and sponged TE dye inks Granny Smith and Lemon Meringue.
3. Then I used the Peek A Boo Circle die to die cut the panel. I also die cut another Sugar Cube cardstock using the same die and I need the three circles from the die cuts.
4. I sponged one circle with TE dye inks Sprinkles and Saltwater Taffy, the second circle with TE dye inks Lavender Glaze and Plum Punch and the last circle with TE dye inks Cupcake and Strawberry Milkshake. Blending two shades of the colour gave me an ombre on the circles.
5. I stamped the eggs and the bunny from the stamp set and copic coloured the images. I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.
6. I stamped the sentiment below the circle windows on the sponged panel using Oreo TE hybrid ink.
7. To assemble the card, I adhered the sponged panel on the card base using foam adhesives. Then the sponged circles are flush glued inside the circle windows.
8. I then used glue and foam to cluster glue the eggs in groups of three and tucked glued on the left and right of the circle window. Then the bunny is tucked and glued in the centre circle.
9. I used TE enamel heart shape in Lollipop colour on the bunny’s tummy and Sugar Cube enamel shapes around the card.

Here are some closeup photos of the card.

The second card showcases Skinny Mini Spring Borders die set along with Peek A Boo Easter stamp and die set.

These are cute banners and will add awesome interest to any spring themed card.

GAYATRISkinnyminispringbordersWED1//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Instructions:

1. My card base is Sugar Cube cardstock.

2. I die cut Sprinkles cardstock using the Build a Scene Rolling Clouds dies to make a pair of rolling clouds. I sponged Sprinkles TE ink on the edges of the clouds to add depth.
3. I used Mint Julep cardstock to die cut landscapes using Build a Scene: Rolling Hills dies and sponged Granny Smith TE ink to add depth.
4. I stamped three bunnies and a few eggs from Peek A Boo Easter stamp set on Sugar Cube cardstock and copic coloured them in pastel colours.
5. I used the coordinating die set to die cut them all out.
6. I die cut two flower banners from Skinny Mini Spring Borders die set using Potato Chip cardstock and two bird banners using Cupcake cardstock.
7. To assemble the card, I adhered the rolling clouds flush on the card front, trimmed the overhang off, then the first hill flush, trimmed the overhang, then the other tow hills using foam adhesives and trim off the overhang again. It is better to trim the overhangs as your go because trimmed a thick layer of cardstock overhangs towards the end will be very difficult.
8. The banners are flush glued on top of the card front.
9. The bunnies and eggs are tucked into the hill layers with glue.
10. The sentiment is from Rainboot Bouquet stamp set which is white heat embossed on a strip of Poppy Seed cardstock.
11. I added TE Candy Corn enamel shapes to the centre of the banner flowers and brush shimmer on the eggs using Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.

Couple of close up of the card.

Have a Happy and Blessed Easter!

Welcome back! Hope you got inspired by day #1 sneak peek of February release from Taylored Expressions. Today is day #2 and I have more new products to show you.
First I have a beautiful stamp set called So Very Blessed. This set is a small set with beautiful sentiments. There is a coordinating die called Blessed Script die.

I have combined these two products with another new product called Ornate Frame cutting plate to make my card.
How beautiful is this ornate frame? I LOVE this die and it is a must have product in my opinion. So I used gold mirror cardstock to die cut the ornate frame and frame the beautiful Blessed sentiment.
Instructions:
1. My card base is made out of Toffee cardstock.
2. I die cut the Ornate Fame cutting plate using gold mirror cardstock. I also die cut the ornate inlay using gold mirror carstock and vellum paper.
3. I ran a Sugar Cube card panel through TE Damask embossing folder, then sponged Tattered Rose distress ink to highlight the damask pattern. This panel is trimmed to 4″x5.25″.
4. The focal sentiment is made using Blessed Script die. I die cut one out of gold mirror  cardstock and two out of sugar cube cardstock. I stacked and glue them with the gold mirror die cut on the top.
5. The smaller sentiment is gold heat embossed on a strip of sugar cube cardstock.
6. To assemble the card, I adhered the ornate frame on the embossed panel using foam adhesive and used natural twine to wrap and tie into a bow.
7. The vellum inlay die cut is adhered on the gold mirror die cut with the Blessed sentiment die cut on the top. This is inlaid in the centre of the ornate frame using foam adhesives. Then the smaller sentiment is adhered just above the blessed sentiment.
8. Finally embellished with rose pearls which coordinates with the Tattered Rose on the embossed panel.

The second new product I am showcasing today is a coordinating die set for an older stamp set. This coordinating die set is called Faith in Bloom which coordinates Faith in Bloom stamp set.

I coloured the floral images, die cut using the coordinating dies and make the background for my card.

Instructions:

1. My card base is made using Granny Smith cardstock.

2. I stamped the floral images some of them twice from Faith in Bloom stamp set, coloured them with copic markers in pastel colours, then used the coordianting dies to die cut them out.
3. I trimmed a Sugar Cube cardstock to 4″x5.25″ and adhered the floral die cuts randomly using foam adhesives. The over hangs were trimmed off with scissors.
4. The sentiment is from He is Risen stamp set which is heat embossed using Liquid Platinum embossing powder on a strip of vellum paper.
5. I wrapped the vellum around the floral panel and adhered the entire panel on the card front.
6. I brushed the flower centres with clear shimmer using Wink of Stella shimmer pen and added glossy accent to a few flower centres.

Some closeups for you.
