I went wild with flowers for the challenge and made two cards. It has become a habit of making at least two cards when I open a new stamp set or die. It is easier to make more cards when making one than planning to make another at a later time. Here is my first card.

Wplus9 designs are one of my favourite in the industry. Some are hand drawn by Dawn and are the designs are unique. This new set called Summer Blooms stamp set has been sitting on my desk for almost a few weeks now. LOVE the stylised flowers and leaves building design and I went to town stamping them.

I have used Altenew inks of Mango Smoothie, Lavender Fields, Cotton Candy, Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf inks to stamp my images. And I did use my mini MISTI to get a good impression as I have cubes of these inks. I don’t get good results with cubes. So double stamping with MISTI helps. The sentiment is from That Is All stamp set. I simply stamped the sentiment on top of the stamped images using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. Again double stamped to get even coverage. Since the sentiment font is big and bold, it popped out against the colourful background. I adhered the panel on to Simon Says Stamp Green Apple card base. Embellished with Pretty Pink Posh 4mm and 6mm sequins.

My second card also uses Altenew inks for stamping the florals and leaves. I changed the orientation of the card and the stamped image on the panel. It always works when you have portrait orientation to stamped the images from bottom of the card front leaving white space on the top. And when you have landscape orientation to have the stamped images on the top and white space on the bottom. I prefer it this way.

For this card, the sentiment is from Summer Blooms stamp set which I have stamped using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I adhered the panel on to a pink card base and embellished with 4mm and 6mm Pretty Pink Posh Onyx sequins.

I have a lot of coloured cardstocks and I have not been using them much. I always go for white cardstock when I make my cards. I decided I will make my card front using white card stock panel and make coloured card bases. I will pick the colour of my card base from the colour on the card front. This way I am using up my coloured cardstocks. Once I use up all my coloured cardstocks, then I will restart making card bases using white cardstock. Do I make sense?
Hope you like my cards for the challenge today. You can go wild with anything. Wild does not have to be wild animals. 🙂

And this is my take on the challenge.

Happy Birthday to you card#2//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

What is new on my card? I have used a new stamp set from Wplus9 holiday release called Holiday Boughs. I bought this set and never opened it. So this is a new set for me. Then I tried a new style of stamping on my card. Its the stationery style stamping. May Park does this style beautifully. I have seen many of her videos and wanted to try it out. Mayholic in Crafts is her blog. Check out her videos. She is amazing!

I started with gold embossing the sentiment from Strictly Sentiment 5 stamp set from Wplus9. I masked a border around the edges of the panel. Then I started my stamping the images from Holiday Boughs, Botanical Bunch and Happy Mail stamp sets in black. I kept all the images inside the masked area. Some of the images are solid images and some are outline. I coloured the outline images with copic markers, adding a little shading. I then removed the mask. I then adhered this panel on to green card base. No embellishment what so ever. A one layer flat card – Stationery style! Here is another shot of the card.

I really love this one layer stationery style card. I will do a bit more experimenting with this style. Hope you like it.

This week the challenge is

DIE CRAZY!

We are showcasing Wplus9 Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
I started with sponging a white cardstock panel with some distress inks. I have used Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Chipped Sapphire and Dried Marigold. I made sure they blended well. Then used Hey, Hi Hello die set to die cut the speech bubbles out. I wondered for a bit whether to keep the words inside the speech bubbles  or take it out or swapp. In the end, I decided to keep them as it is. I adhered these speech bubbles randomly on a white card panel. Trimmed this panel to size. The lower panel is sponged with Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold. I stamped the sentiment from the Unforgettable stamp set using black ink. I stamped, coloured and die cut the elephant from the Unforgettable stamp set and adhered in the middle using foam adhesives.

You are simply amazing!

Good morning dear friends!
Woke up earlier than the rest of the family as ususal!  While they are asleep, I decided to share a water colour card, I made using Joni’s sketch #2 from Wplus9.
Working with sketches is something I love. It takes away 90% of the planning work for me. All I have to do is select the stamp sets, dies and technique to work. That is what I did and here is my card using the sketch.
I die cut a Ranger watercolour paper in to two pieces using the curved stitched die from Pretty Pink Posh’s Stitched Border die set. I then white heat embossed the flower image from Flora and Fauna 2 stamp set from Wplus9 on to the curved edges of both the pieces as well as on the top left and bottom right of the pieces. I also white heat embossed a few butterflies from the stamp set on a seperate watercolour paper. This stamp set is perfect for watercolouring. After seeing the butterflies Joni had used on her card, I dug up this set to use on my card.
To watercolour the heat embossed images, I used Zig Real Brush Pens. These pens are easy to use for watercolouring. Just a dab of colour and using aqua brush, I pull the colour to a faded wash to the rest of the image. On the flowers, I used a light pink first to do a colour wash, then added darker pink for high lights. The butterflies were cut out by hand as I did not have the companion die set.
On the card base, I spattered some Black Soot distress ink, then adhered the curved pieces using foam adhesives. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom curved piece before I adhered it to the card base. The sentiment is from Quite Like you stamp set also from Wplus9. The butterflies were clustered and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh’s Sparkly Clear Sequins.
Love how this card turned out. I wanted to try using pastel colours, Except the pink highlights, rest of the colours remained pastel. lol! It is hard for me to use pastel colours as I am a strong bright coloured girl. So I have gone out of my comfort zone and pretty pleased with the result. I have listed all the products below for you.

Smile, it’s your Birthday!

Hello again,
A quick post today sharing a card I made using the new Wplus9 goodies that arrived last week.
Smile card 2
Watercolouring is massive at the moment. I love the technique as it is very forgiving. No need to have a clean and crisp image. More softer the image, the better it looks. But then this stamp set called Watercoloured Anemones from Wplus9 comes along and you can stamp watercoloured images without watercolours or brush. How cool is that? I love such stamp sets. To somebody like me who is a beginner at watercolouring, this set is perfect to achieve the professional watercolour look without having to do watercolouring. Yay!
So I stamped the flowers and leaves from Watercoloured Anemones stamp set and created the background on the card front. I then die cut the “Smile” from Flower doodle dies three time with black cardstock. They are stacked and glued with glossy accent which I also applied generously on the top to get the glossy finish to the die cut. The smaller sentiment is from Strictly Sentiments 5 stamped on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed fish tail edges and added to the die cut sentiment.

Pretty Pink Posh Watercolour Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop! Yay!

Watercolouring is currently a massive trend with the cardmakers. So this hop is going to great fun and also a great resource for watercoloured cards.
I have three projects for the blog hop. Here is my first card.
Happy Birthday card
I have used Addie’s garden stamp set from Winnie & Walter to stamp and white heat embossed on watercolour card stock. Then I have used the Zig Real Brush watercolour pens to colour the images and the background. Once dry, I die cut the stitched rectangle panel from Pretty Pink Posh Stitched duo 2 die set. I also die cut three more of the rectangles using scrap cardstock. All the rectangle die cuts were stacked and glued with the watercoloured rectangle die cut on the top.
I adhered the watercoloured rectangle frame on the card front using foam adhesives. Then inlaid the stacked stitched rectangle panel back in its place. I then stamped the sentiment from The Party stamp set also from Winnie & Walter. Then the gorgeous Sparkly Clear sequins accented and pulled the card together. Here is a closeup!
Happy Birthday clsoeup
Here is second card for the hop.
Most amazing friend
On this card, I have used Bohemian Garden stamp set from Essential By Ellen which I have stamped and  white heat embossed on watercolour card. The flwers and leaves are watercoloured using Zig Gansai Tambi Watercolour.  I then spattered some black Mr. Huey on the panel. The frame is from Taylored Expression called Frame in a Frame die set which is adhered using foam adhesive for some dimension. The sentiment is from Amazing Women stamp set from Essential By Ellen. Finally accented with Pretty Pink Posh’s Onyx sequins. Here is a closeup!
Most amazing friend closeup
And finally the last card for the hop.
Happy birthday to you
I stamped and watercoloured to create my own pattern paper. The stamp sets I used are from Simon Says Stamp’s Friendly Flowers stamp set and Wplus9’s Fresh Cut Florals. I inked them with distress inks, misted with water and stamped on the watercolour paper. That gave a lovely watercolour look but I wanted the edges to wash out and not be perfect. So I sprayed the entire stamped panel with water to get the colours to bleed and soften the edges of the images. I used Mama Elephant dies to die cut the scallop panel. The panel looks so pretty but very bold. I then die cut a vellum panel using the same Mama Elephant die set to layer over the panel. Then sentiment is stamped on the Stitched Banner Duo die die cut using white cardstock which is layered on the vellum. The sentiment is from Strictly Sentiment 5 stamp set from Wplus9. Finally accented with Orchid, Lime Sorbet and Amethyst sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a closeup!
Happy Birthday to you closeup

Mask-erade day #2

Sharing couple of cards using masking technique for Mask-erade Online Card Class.
I love Jennifer’s technique using a big die, die cut as mask to stamp. She uses both negative and the postive of the die cut to make two cards. I really loved how her cards looked. So here is my version of Jennifer’s technique.
This is the negative as the mask.
Negative masking card
And this one using the positive as the mask.
Positive masking card

I have used the biggest die from Wplus9 Heart Stax die set to die cut my mask. I then adhered the positive die cut on one panel and the negative on the panel. I used More fresh Cuts stamp set also from Wplus9 to stamp using second generation stamping using distress inks and colouring with waterbrush.  I then simply stamped the sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 5 from Wplus9 using Versafine Black ink. Finally accents with Sparkly Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Love the soft watercoloured look.  Here are both the cards together.
