Featured Artist – Tag You’re It Challenge #68

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to be a featured artist on Tag You’re It challenge blog. Thank you so much Tracey McNeely for inviting me back. I was a designer at the blog once then featured once previously. So, it is good to be featured back again.

This tag was inspired by my dog. Although my do is a Cocker Spaniel, I am a lover of all dogs. So I have to have Tim’s Crazy Dogs stamp set and dies in my collections.

To make this tag, I stamped one of the dog from the stamp set twice and I coloured with copic markers. I also stamped and coloured the accessories like the ball, bone, leash and the bowl. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images including the eyes, nose and collar of the dog.

For the background on the tag, I sponged distress inks Dried Marigold and Ripe Persimmon through the brick stencil. I love bright colours. Then I stamped the sentiment “Love” from Simon Says Stamp Kristina’s Love stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink using Mini MISTI to get a full even coverage. Then I adhered the focal images some glued flush to the tag and the some foam mounted for added dimension. The smaller sentiment from the same stamp set is stamped on a strip of white cardstock and adhered vertically using foam adhesives. I added some tiny hearts punched out of some sponged cardstocks to add on top of the focal image. I also brushed Wink of Stella clear shimmer on those hearts. I used the leash as the tag ribbon.

Here are some closeup of the tag showcasing the dimensions.

Hope you are inspired by my tag. And I cannot wait to see your take on my tag. Thanks for having me as Featured Artist on Tag You’re It Challenge, Tracey!

Simon Says: Use More Than One Die Cut or Punch.

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Bit O’ Green Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher

This week the challenge is to

Use More Than One Die Or Punch

This week we are showcasing Memory Box Products this week. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.

This is my take on the challenge theme.

I used two dies from Memory Box. One is called Springtime Floral Egg die and the other is Weeping Willow Archway die. I combined these two dies along with Simon Says Stamp Some Bunny Loves You stamp set from New Beginnings collections. For all the colours I have used Distress Oxide inks. I am so in love with Distress Oxide inks. They blend so well and love the oxide chalky effect. Since I have not found a home for them in my craft room, it is sitting on the table and getting a lots of use out of them 🙂

The bunnies are stamped using versafine Onyx Black ink on watercolour paper and coloured using Zig Clean Colour Brush pens. I hand cut them out. The sentiment is also from Some Bunny Love You stamp set. The card is embellished with Nuvo Jewel Drops. Here are some of the closeup photos of the card.

So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

I decided to experiment design aspect with this challenge. I wanted to make stationary style cards by stamping and creating my own patterns. And the theme for the cards are Easter. Yes I made a set of two cards.
I used a few stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp on these cards. Considering the Easter theme, I wanted florals, easter images and some solid images. I picked Melody’s Easter, Springtime Critters, Winter Flowers, Nutty About You, Blooming Day and Summer Garden stamp sets.

I used one white panel and one Fog card stock panel to stamp the images. Started with the largest image, I stamped clusters of images covering the entire panel leaving a few blank spaces. Most images are outline images but I also stamped some solid images. Most of the images are stamped overlapping each other. So there is no method to the madness. I kept stamping until I was happy with how the panels looked. I only coloured the leaves only using YG23 copic marker.

Then I trimmed the panels using the second largest die from Hero Arts Infinity rectangle die set. I adhered the white panel on fog card base and fog panel on white card base using foam adhesive. Sentiment is white heat embossed on a strip of black card stock and adhered as shown. No embellishments on the card as they are stationary styled card.

Here are the photos of the cards and their closeups.

All the supplies used to make the cards are listed below.

So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Simon Says The Color of Love!

this is my second post for today. HERE is my first post.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

The Color Of Love

It will be Valentine’s Day soon so anything with a love theme.
This week we are showcasing Reverse Confetti Products this week. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.

For the challenge I used Reverse Confetti’s Lovey Words dies to make my card.

Forever Sweet card
Techniques used: Inlaid die cut, watercolouring and sponging & blending inks.

Instructions:

1. My card base is Fog card stock.
2. The card front panel is Bristol cardstock trimmed to 4″x5.25″.
3. First I white heat embossed the heart shaped flower cluster from Simon Says Stamp’s Roses for You stamp set on the centre bottom of the panel.
4. I coloured the image using Distress inks – Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Worn Lipstick and Mowed Lawn for the leaves.
5. Once dry, I sponged distress inks on the background. I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked raspberry and Candied Apple distress inks. Sponged from light to dark and back from dark to light to get a good blend.
6. I spattered clean clear water and moped it up. Then sprayed with Shimmer spray. It looks gorgeously shimmery 🙂
7. When dry, I used the dies from Reverse Confetti to die cut on top of the watecoloured heart shaped roses. I also die cut couple of more words using the same dies.
8. On the back of the panel, I adhered adhesive sheet. This helped me inlay the dies back in place.
9. I stacked glued the die cuts with the watercoloured die cut on top. Then I inlaid this stack back in place on the panel with all the bits and pieces as well.
10. I felt the top part of the panel was a bit bare. So I used Simon Says Stamp’s falling Hearts Stencil and sponged darker shade of red and pink distress inks. That was the perfect subtle background I wanted on the panel.
11. I adhered this panel on the card base and embellished the card front with Sparkly Clear sequins.

Here is a closeup of the card and the dimension of the inlaid die cut sentiment.

This week we are showcasing Carabelle Studio Products. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
I have used Carabelle Studio’s ET RONDS stamp set to make my card.
Sending Love
Instructions:

1. I started with a white cardstock panel which measured 4.25″x5.50″.
2. I white heat embossed the images from Carabelle Studio on the edges of the card panel.
3. I trimmed the panel to 4″x5.25″ in size and them sponged Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean distress inks on the edges fading to the middle.
4. I also white heat embossed the images on a scrap piece of cardstock and sponged the same distress inks.
5. I fuzzy cut the images from the scrap piece of paper to over lay on the main panel.

Simon Says Anything But a Card!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Winter Birthday Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

Anything But A Card

This week we are showcasing We R Memory Keepers Products. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
I used We R Memory Keepers’s DIY Party Vellum Pad to make my birthday banner.
I used the red vellum paper and Simon Says Stamp Balloons die to die cut five red vellum balloons which forms the base for the banner. To dress it up, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Birthday Farm Animals stamp set. I stamped the animal images and copic coloured them. There are coordinating die set has dies for two of the images. So I used those dies to die cut two of the images and hand cut the rest of the images. I adhered them on the balloons using foam adhesives. I ran a thread behind the balloons to make them a banners. Then added bow made out of the same thread between two balloons and at the ends of the balloons. Here is a closeup of the banner.

Banner closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Simple, easy and love the coloured vellum. Perfect for little kids birthday party. The Balloon dies have smaller balloon die which can be used as cupcake toppers and decorate the party bag. Cool huh! So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting!

Simon Says New Something!

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and would like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2017!
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

New Something

New Crafty Stash, New Baby, New Job, New Life, Wedding etc, we will be looking forward to seeing whats new!
This week we are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products. You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I went with new stash to play the challenge. The new product is my new DieCember die Missing You. This die comes as a set of three missing you dies in three different fonts. I decided to use the all capital font die as both my background as well as my focal sentiment.
I die cut an entire panel of white card stock using the die. This is the time consuming part of making this card. I saved all the positive die cuts for another project and I am using the negative die cut panel. To make the background pop, I had two ideas in mind. The first one is to sponge the card front using some masking and inks. The second is to add a coloured cardstock behind the die cut panel. I went with the second idea as the first idea needed precision and I did not have the patience and the time for it. With the second idea, I changed it a bit by adding coloured vellum behind the die cut panel. This is a yellow vellum from We’re Memory Keepers. I added Ranger Multi Medium Matt on the back of the die cut panel to adhere the yellow vellum. I then adhered this on a white panel again to make this panel sturdy.
I adhered this panel on a black card base. The contrast of the white, yellow and black is awesome. The contrast is not very high because there is a lot of white on the die cut panel which neutralises the intensity of the contrast. For the focal point, I die cut a strip of black cardstock using the same Missing You die and adhered over one of the background negative die cut. That is  the card. No more embellishment as the background of the card itself is very busy.
Missing You flat
So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
I made a set of cards for the challenge using Mermaid Seashells Magicals set. I used the new Simon Says Stamp Kristina’s Love stamp set from Hey love collection and an older stencil also from Simon called Falling Hearts to make my cards.
For the first card, I gold heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom of the Bristol panel using Simon’s gold embossing powder. On the second card, I heat embossed the sentiment using Simon’s Rose Gold embossing powder.

Sending love closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Sending love 1closeup//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Then I used the Falling Hearts stencil to add embossing paste through out the panel. Once dry, I brushed water on the panels and then the Cockelbells Coral and Glory of Sea Gold pigments made into watercolour by adding water. I brushed two layers drying the first layer to add the second layer. The I trimmed the panel and adhered on Simon’s Slate card base.

The shimmer from the Lindy’s Gang pigment powder is gorgeous on the cards. I could not capture on my photos but in real the background is shimmery. Hope you like my cards.
