CAS- usual Friday Challenge

Grateful for you

I had some time this evening to craft. Was very therapeutic I should say.
Anyway, I made a card for CAS-ual Friday challenge #41.

CFC41:  Jest for the Pun of it.
Use a pun, or a sentiment in a silly way to create a joke, on your
Clean And Simple creation.

**a pun is a humorous play on words.
Here is my take on the challenge.
Grateful for you card
I basically used scraps to make this card. Isn’t that therapeutic? I had a great time making this card and using one of my old SU stamp set. I love this SU stamp set because it has vintage images with punny sentiments. Nice huh! So this set stayed with me. Anyway, I love how this card turned out. Hope you do too:)

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White, Dark Chocolate from PTI
Stamp set: Puns from the Past from SU and Polka Dot Background Stamp from PTI
Inks: Soft Suede from SU
Accessories: circle punches, scrap pattern papers from my stash.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Blog Hop

Hopping with friends today…

Hi Everybody,
If you are a regular to my blog, you will know that a few of us friends do regular mini blog hops showcasing stamp sets. For this blog hop we chose, Garden Variety and Year Of Flowers Mini from Papertrey Ink. They were released last year. I love both sets but for some reason they do not see  much ink for me. So I am excited to ink them up and make a few projects.
Without any delay, here are my projects

I used this week’s ColourQ colour challenge, on this card above.

In the above cards, I have used Garden Variety die and its negative. Love to use the negative as well.
Now for more….

All of the above card was inspired by the one below.

I made this card first, and then decided to make a card set using more Year Of flowers Mini stamps.

Hope you liked all my project. If you like to participate in the hop, then make a project using Garden Variety and Year Of Flowers Mini from PTI and showcase it on your blog or gallery. Make sure you link them to my comments. I would love to see them 🙂
Now if you want more inspirations then I urge you to see all the gorgeous projects from these girls 🙂
Have fun hopping and thanks for visiting!

Happy Father’s Day!

Moxie Fab World Blog is hosting The Cure for Winter Blues Challenge.
Cath says, Navy is the trend. Cool! She has so many inspirational photos and cards using Navy on her blog. Head over and have a look. You will be inspired.
I love Navy but haven’t used it much recently. So I pulled out all my navy inks (4 in total!) and sponging tool and here is what that came out of it 🙂
 Father's day card
I basiclly stamped the tree first on a 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch square piece of white cardstock with black ink. Then punch a circle using scrap paper and masked off a bit of tree. Then sponged SU Pacific Point, PTI’s Enchanted Evening, SU’s Not Quite Navy and finally Black ink. Removed the mask and stamped the dragonfly with black ink.
Supplies
Cardstocks: Stamper’s Select White from PTI
Stamp sets: Made with Love and Celebrate Everyday from Hero Arts, Father Knows the Best from PTI.
Inks: SU’s Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Basic Black. PTI’s Enchanted Evening.
Accessories: Sponging tool and circle punch.

PTI, Stampin Up cards

Inspired by Pinterest

I have a board on Pinterest called Inspirational Patterns. When I look at a picture and I think, this will work on a card, I pin it to this board. I saw this yesterday and I pinned it.
I liked this layout especially the masking part of it. I was inspired by it and wanted to make a card immediately. So this is what I came up with.

 IMGP2541
Perfect spring card right? You could use leaves like in the inspirational picture and make a card for Autumn. Use snowflakes and make a card for winter and for summer, use ball, flip flops, bucket, star fish, umbrella, cocktail glass. So versatile. I love finding such inspirations.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Stamper’s Select White from PTI
Stamp Sets: Day Dreamer and Think Big Favourites # 10 from PTI
Inks: SU’s Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Plum Pudding, Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango.Kiwi Kiss and Poppy Parade. Stazon Black Ink

Birthday cards

Happy Birthday!

You will know this layout, if you are in Australia and watch TEN TV channel. They use colour blocking in creative way. This layout comes when they announce the next program or schedule for the evening. I did modify it. I love love the animation and the bright and bold colours of blue and yellow with black. I haven’t worked out how to incorporate the animation into the card. Maybe an interactive card is the way to go but for now, inspired by TV, I made a birthday card.
Colour Blocking
I told you, it is bright and bold. But I love it. I am a bright girl. Find it hard to do muted colours. I love that I think of sketches/layouts for cards when I see TV, catalogues, billboards, TV ads, clothes etc. My husband and kids thinks I am crazy lol! Anyway, here is the supply list

Supplies:
Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black from SU, Golden Harvest from PTI
Stamp sets: Wonderful Words Additions,Modern Basics from PTI, Little Critters from CAS
Inks: Stazon Black Ink
Accessories: Circle punch, Fine tip black pen, MFT alpha dies.

Thanks for stopping by!
