Christmas cards…..

I have a huge number of Christmas cards to make. I am sure all of you do too! Just got a bit panicky because, when I tried to make the card, I just could not get it right! My mojo for christmas cards left me! So I have decided to give up participating in challenges for a little while and focus on making Christmas cards. I have started making them. Here are the first couple of Christmas cards I made for this year.
I am not so very happy with them. Love the background part of the card but the focal panel is what I am not happy about.  But some of my friends liked it. And that gave me some confidence. So I made another set Hehe! Here are they…
I feel better about these ones. I am getting there, I think! Then I made these three…
I love these these. Just love the layers of stamped images and the ornament with the rhinestones look so much beautiful and festive. In total I have about 200 cards to make. Its a good start don’t you think! I just need a few sketches to mass produce Christmas cards. When I find them, I need is make prototypes and then mass produce cards…
OK! I have to go now. My daughter is preparing to go for a sleepover at her friend’s house. I have to make sure she has taken all she needs. I will miss her tonight at home. It will be a lot quieter. But I am sure she will have a lot of fun with her friend and just can’t stop talking about it tomorrow morning. mmmm! lol!
Alright, see ya soon…
Cheers!
Embellish Challenge, PTI

Embellish Challenge

This is my first time to participate in Embellish challenge. I liked the colors and background stamping of the challenge. Moreover I had some time to do this afternoon. So I made a card for the challenge.
Here is the challenge:
Here is the card I made for the challenge.
I have used PTI’s damask background stamp using Basic Gray ink from SU for the background. Distressed the edges and sponged gray ink on the edges too. Its such a beautiful color combination. Love it and thanks for the challenge.
Have a great long weekend!
Cheers!

Christmas bookmarks!

Previously I had made some bookmarks for my children’s school library. You can find that post here. It was such a great hit that the librarian said she would like some more, if I had the time to make it. Since school holidays had started and today was a nice quiet day, I made a few bookmarks. Christmas coming so close and final term at school, I decided to make Christmas bookmarks.
A few are modern and a few are vintage. There are 32 bookmarks in total. The stamps are from PTI’s Tree Trimming Trio set (my fav) and Signature Christmas Greetings. Inks and ribbons from Stampin’ Up!. I think my bookmark die has got the maximum use ever among all the dies I own lol! I can’t wait for the tag die as well. Then I can make  Christmas tags too. I so enjoyed making these especially after a massive cleanup of my water logged muddy house and garden.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great sunday evening!
Cheers!

Blog Hop, PTI

PTI September Blog Hop

I thought I would not be able to make it for the hop this month. That was because last night our water main broke and it was a disaster. Water everywhere and the engineer was not able to fix it. We just had to shut the water mains off and pack and move to a hotel nearby. Never thought we will holiday in the same town we live in! Anyway, its all fixed now and we are back home and I was able to schedule this post.
” One of the most fun things about this hobby is the people you meet, whether in person or online, and the things you can learn from them.  Now is your chance to show off any skills you might have learned from a fellow stamper, and perhaps even give them a little shout out to thank them for the inspiration they have provided.  Create a project using one of your favorite learned skills and perhaps after a little blog hopping, we will ALL learn some new tips and tricks and continue to pass on the love of this hobby!
Well, I have been stalking and admiring Sarah Martina Parker’s blog — Designs by Sarah Martina
for a very very long time. Love how she does shabby style cards. Just so pretty! “Your style is so so pretty, Sarah Martina! I particularly love the distressed and inked edges, layering stamped images and embellishments. Your work inspires me a lot”. I have tried use her techniques and given a go for this month’s PTI blog hop. Here is what I came up with…
I have used PTI’s Cream cardstock as the base. The red vellum paper is from Webster Pages and the green paper is from Basic Grey, which are stamped with PTI Text Style II stamps and flutterby Friends, distressed and inked the edges and layered with lace, bakers twine, rhinestones and butterflies. This is a card inspired by Sarah Martina Parker! Hope I have done justice…..
Now off to hop and see everybody’s project. I think its going to be interesting to see all the projects this month as the theme for this month can be interpreted in many many ways.
Happy Hopping and Have fun 🙂
Cheers!
PTI, Stampin Up cards

Just Add Ink #36

Edited: This card featured as one of the Top Five Picks for the challenge on JAI blog.
Thanks for choosing the card 🙂

Second post today! I had time this afternoon and I made a card for Just Add Ink sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch

Although the sketch looks like a CAS sketch, I decided to do a vintage card instead. I like doing things different…. Atleast I try to. Not all the time its turns out well but this one definitely has! I am happy with it.
The designer papers are from Kaisercraft, the sentiments are from PTI and the image stamp set is from the new SU catty. Ribbon, Button and Hawaiian Shores cardstock is from PTI and the rest from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend 🙂

A big thank you….

Hello again everybody! Yesterday, my son came home from school and told me that his class teacher wants a big thank you card made for his assistant teacher who was leaving. Well, here is what I came up with…
I love this layout because its easy to do and give me the flexibility to use many stamp sets, textures and colors.
I so love the ruler ribbon and embossed script and the chalkboard effect on black cardstock.
I just folded the A4 cardstock in half and made the card. The “Thank you” sentiment is embossed green American Craft embossing powder.
I also made an envelope for the card using DSP.
The class teacher was so happy with it. The kids will sign today and give the assistant teacher the card with a little gift. Hope she likes it!
Ok, got to go and get the kids ready for school. Until next time….
Cheers!

3-D, Butterfly Punch

Framed!!!!!

We framed few butterflies this Wednesday in the class. I wanted to do a canvas project but could not find 10 canvas of the same size in any of the shops in my town. Duh! Anyway, I bought 10 frames instead and made this Butterfly frame art.
Each butterfly (SU butterfly punch) layer has 2 vellum butterflies, then one Real Red/Sahara Sand butterfly, followed by 5 vellum butterlfies and finally a embossed Real Red/Sahara Sand butterfly, all adhered using black brad. This butterfly layer is mounted on a layer of Real Red/Sahara Sand scallop circle cardstock and scallop vellum circle stamp with the Artistic Etchings medal stamp (SU Stamp). The centre butterfly has a tiny tag (SU punch) with “thanks so much” sentiment on it (also SU punch).I have removed the glass from the frame and added a Very Vanilla cardstock instead.
Looks a bit plain I think! Will twik a bit and post another photo later.
Weekend is nearing again! Gosh! days just fly by and before I know its another week. I am still hoping for my life to slow down a bit. School holidays start next week. Atleast no more taxi service and waking up early in the mornings and rushing. OK, Aditi are calling me for skipping since today is a gorgeous 24 degree day. Got to go now. Until next time…
Cheers!
